HH70 Reaction

milena is gonna post the full reaction to the wire tonight

HH70 Reaction

Comments

I fully agree with Milena! I didn’t want Killua’s hands to suffer, Gon could have asked even Hisoka to hold the ball.

Nazerke K

Can't wait for you to get to Chimera Ant arc :)

Adrian

Awareness of actions and consequences don't mean that a action is good or even bad. Regardless, in this scene especifically, I think the side that we see in Gon is more his self sacrification side with his will to fight and impulsiveness, reflected on others. He thinks that because he would sacrifice himself, there's no problem for a friend that he trusts do it too. I do know that Killua wanted to help and knew what it had to be done, but the problem is the fact that gon didn't faulter or looked apologetic in having to hurt his friend. This is not an usual behaviour and, even if I don't think that it is necessary bad, it do show how gon's thinking gravitates towards a more pratical, impulsive, throught his own lenses way, than an logical, empathical, mindfull one. (Gon is not even close to beeing only what I said. But I do think that this scene was made so we could see this side of him, and how it interected with the weird mentality that Killua also has. Especially since Killua holds a really strong admiration for Gon)

Thali Alexis

But what has Gon did that was selfish that Killua hasn’t experienced already? Gon is saving everyone lives in their including Hisoka’s , Gon is doing nothing selfish. Killua knew what the assignment was

ForiegnKarma

I mean't Gon's perspective as in how Gon felt about the decision and it being a "sweet moment". Not literally his perspective, but I understand the confusion, haha.

Komikall

I only disagree with the show being in gons perspective. I think that it's the exact oposite of that since we mostly see inside other characters head, mostly killuas, and basicaly never inside gon's. Not when he is having some inside conflict or something. I also think that the lighlty of that tact helps you feel unconfurtable with it, and also realizing that it is a sweet moment for Gon and Killua, even if mostly wrong

Thali Alexis

completly agree! It is a red flag and a flaw that later on we see more about, but it is also a sweet moment for Gon and Killu. I think that Gon constantly waves between caring about others but also being intrigued and atracted by danger. And that makes him impulsive even tho he is not exactly selfish. He is a really complex character

Thali Alexis

I agree with your take, but I also think that the girls are mostly right. Like, to their relationship (A hunter and an assassin) is something normal and even friendly. But even tho, we can still see the selfishnes and impulsivity that gon helds sometimes. So, it is a red flag but is not that gon is a bad person or being a major bad friend. I think that this action is in the middle ground but is still concerning

Thali Alexis

Gon is my favorite character!! Anyway it's getting more interesting. I'm so excited for more

Thali Alexis

Greek Orthodox - most certainly have icons (ikones)

Mikey

Before Killua hands were even noticed of injury. They had a worried look on their faces & said Gon was scary. It takes away from the epic power scaling for Gon. Killua is a trained assassin I understand the sympathy of him being a kid but Killua knew the assignment regardless.

ForiegnKarma

they're not bothered by him powering up, they're concerned that he's not willing to take an option that could spare killua some unnecessary pain. the other guy had more experience and could've held the ball for gon without getting hurt, there should be no reason to refuse him. and that's where the concern arises.

jweher

The word you were looking for is iconography.

Nathan Elkin

I don't think this show gaslight's its audience.

Nathan Elkin

Lola like me fr fr, thinking with her hands and feet

Nathan Elkin

Stardust is your new favorite "classic" movie. You're welcome

Nathan Elkin

A great Halloween movie is the Cowboy Bebop movie

Nathan Elkin

I would take broken hands over the removal of my head

Nathan Elkin

couldn't be me

Nathan Elkin

I usually don't comment but I don't agree with your discussion about Gon. Gon understands that physical pain is much better than psychological defeat, it's easy to be the wise one and prevent Kilua from helping you, but how that will affect Kilua psychologically? Even if they won, Kilua will not feel right that he did nothing, he will question himself and be hard on himself just like Gon. Actually, even Kilua sometime stops himself from preventing Gon from dangerous situations knowing that it's much safer way than convincing Gon that he is weak.

FFme

This Gon is only 10% , Than Gon on the last Ant Arc :))

Hussain Ghazaly

Y’all concern when Gon is powering up & becomes dead focus just kinda bothered me because it’s like Gon is doing everything he can for his friends & even Hisoka to get out of there alive.

ForiegnKarma

As the show passes by it stays more and more clear to me that killua represents the rational part of a human being and gon the emotional one... Gon matures enough to be more rational and killua more emotional in their decisions, they both grow and learn with each other how to balance both sides of those aspects in themselves Gon isn't thinking rationally here because he honestly didn't mature enough, you can see that several times in the anime when they explain something more complex and his brain just melts He's just used to functioning that way and that will come with a cost lather on in the show To me the main focus of this show is about that resolve in both gon and killua aspects, and of course, with a hell of a good history to support this.

Dashka

You guys are much quicker than most reactors on picking up on some things regarding characterization. Can't wait to see you guys watch more! I think the reason people don't really say Gon is their favorite character is because he is the the MC. Kinda how a lot of people that like Naruto wouldn't say that Naruto himself is their favorite. I think when people say Killua is thier favorite character they are thinking about Gon and Killua. And also I think Hisoka gets a lot of love because of his wildcard impact on the story outside of his definite creep factor. It's sort of like how occasionally people forget that Master Roshi from Dragon Ball is a pest until it is brought up in conversation or the show itself. Hisoka is a great outline for what a villain could be in a story (minus the pedo tendencies, so to speak).

Vict

😀

TeaDrinker3000

Hereditary is probably the scariest film I’ve watched, period.

Darrach

And it's also fair to say that the reason why Gon was willing to do "harm" to Killua was because it he felt it was necessary and also if the scenario was reversed Gon wouldn't hesitate to put his life on the line for Killua as well.

Rex Tan

Both but it would probably be one of the best for her freaking out.

Cole

Is it that good? Or is it the Milena freak-out potential? Either being yes is a win for me :D

Isaac

I'd recommend watching a horror comedy like Shaun of the Dead or What We Do in the Shadows instead of something genuinely scary like Hereditary. It's ok to not enjoy horror!! I loved your discussion at the end about Gon and Killua's relationship, it's so cool to see you really think ahead about how their story is going to progress!

idoleyes

This ep reminds me that you haven't reacted to Haikyuu yet

Patrick Wotton

I am in South Africa and my favorite thing about the internet is how it connects all of us from all over the world. I recently discovered that my timezone is the same as Serbia so I never have to worry with regards to the girls posting in my time lol

Karabo

Gon is interesting and a lot of people's favorite's don't let this confuse you. I think the Killua vs Gon favorite thing is down to your personality. If you are a feelings first kind of person then Gon will be your favorite, if you like thinking and analysing things first then Killua will be your favorite, that's all there is to it really

Karabo

Gon is a lot like his father, unfortunately... willing to hurt those they should protect for a goal, for personal reasons.

Jordan Crosno

The scene with Nobunaga where Gon gets mad that Killua wants to sacrifice himself so Gon can get away makes it hard to imagine worse things being justified

HeavenlyR

You guys want to watch a great new horror movie that will get you clicks? Talk to Me is the hottest horr movie out right now

Karabo

It's me. The Gon is my favorite character guy :)

YawnSong

because he's a Freecss*

ODIS

Personally I don't think this show is all that explicitly judgemental of the characters, it kinda presents them with all their issues, without providing much commentary. This moment is undoubtedly a huge red flag, but it's presented as a sweet moment because that's what it is to Gon and Killua. And yeah I find it interesting because it's not really like Gon is justifying doing a bad thing to his friend in an "ends justify the means" way. He fully does not see the physical pain he's causing as a negative, because if the roles were reversed, he'd be completely willing to endure that. Because he's a freak lol. It does feel weird in a similar way to when Gon smiles whenever Ging gives him another obstacle to overcome. Imo it speaks less to the moral code of HxH and more to how weird these characters' ways of thinking are.

Payam Sharifi

Yeah I'd say it's a moment presented kinda through Gon and Killua's eyes, which makes it a beautiful moment. To them, it is about their bond of trust and friendship. But at the same time, them seeing Gon hurtin Killua as a testament to their bond is clearly concerning, and it's easy to imagine worse things being justified with his way of thinking.

Payam Sharifi

Ah yes the Gon discourse is getting goooood 😋 Great discussion!

Master Detective

I think theres a slight difference in the comparison of sufferings here HeavenlyR. While yes friends tend to make sacrifices for each other, the alarm L&M were talking about is when you sacrifice your* friend.... for a dodgeball game....

Cyr

HxH plays the long game so well. Too long for some people, but LM are different.

AE

The most concern thing is Killua ageism, he cannot see a old guy 😹😹

Vicente de Paulo Guimaraes Priante

[About Gon] Wing: Zepile: Bisky: “This boy… can become very dangerous.” RECKLESS STUFF😩

Masahiro Niizuma

Gon choosing Tsezguerra to hold the ball over Killua would probably have hurt Killua more than his hands. Also Milena in anime the most popular character is very rarely the main character the only example I can think of is One Piece. Gon is usually 3rd on polls but he's my favorite because of his imperfections, people call them red flags I call it being 12 years old and growing up without a dad while Killua is far more mature due to his dad forcing him to grow up much faster than most kids.

HeavenlyR

That's true, plus the way he got angry on behalf of the Troupe's victims. He has a good heart, which is what makes the red flags L&M have been correctly identifying so interesting

natan

Let's not forget Gon has the same willingness to suffer for Killua, training through a broken arm to get to him, getting beat up for hours by Canary and slicing his eyelids open to win vs Gotoh

HeavenlyR

I love how Milena's brain works

Harfie

This ep is such a perfect crystallization of Gon and Killua's characters. Killua's willingness to suffer for Gon's sake and Gon's combination of sweetness and alarming selfishness

natan

The Wicker Man, Nicholas Cage version.

Orr Malus

It's definitely one of the more complex friendships I've seen. It's shocking how much behinds the scenes stuff and foreshadowing there is. So much isn't verbalized and you really need to dig in deep for a lot of it. It doesn't help though that the show does a REALLY good job of masking most of it by throwing a lot of stuff at you. Most of which is still pretty important to the immediate plot. It's one of the reasons why I'm infinitely patient with Togashi. His story is so much fun to dissect.

Rare

Hereditary pls 😍

Check the decription

Isak Haugerud

That will be a fun one to watch the reaction for. It is also a great movie.

Doug

We wouldn't deserve it, it's too perfect. Absolute chef's kiss 👌

TeaDrinker3000

Literally said YES! out loud when Lola said Hereditary. Fuck yeah!! What a good fucking movie to be their debut for the channel. Do iiiiiittttttt

TeaDrinker3000

JJK reactions would be awesome, you‘d love it

Gucci Pucci

Only 2 episodes per week is killing me, I wish they could post at least 3

Max__

I am so glad you guys were concerned and saw that as a red flag. I know the show kind of paints it in a "light" way, but it is something portrayed as a problem through the fact that Gon looks more like Ging after getting a bandage over his head. It is supposed to parallel and represent Gon's selfishness at the moment. Also, I feel like the show paints it the way they did because you're seeing it more from Gon's perspective and the show tries to evoke those feelings. It feels like it's kind of gaslighting you to think it's okay. All I can say is that you guys are the perfect viewers for this show honestly.

Komikall

Milena watching hereditary would be incredible.

the chosen one

Gon's power up to hit the ball is one of my favorite parts of this show, I love the soundtrack too, it's called "The emperor's time" and it is used in other badass moments in the show

Max__

Gon vs Hanzo fight say it all. Hanzo asked him why are you going to such lenghts risking your life, you could give up now and try next year. Gon said if he gives up he won't ever be able to find his dad, so he was willing to risk his own life to achieve his goal. and now that he's fighting Razor, remember that Razor told him that his dad asked to not go easy on Gon. so Gon took it as a challenge to completely destroy Razor in his game. Gon is trusting Killua 100%, and Killua knows how crazy Gon is and how ready is to risk everything for his own goal, that's why he tagged along with him. "we gotta remember also when Gon took the beating for a whole day by Canary the Zoldyck bulter" he was willing to risk his life also to save his friend Killua. and Killua never forgot what Gon did. We as the viewers are like Mito-san we don't wanna see our little boys hurt. however i don't think there are any red flags or like how Gon didn't care about Killua's injury.

405

i think this is one of gon's most "selfish" moments so far. "i already knew" bro lmao

Jay rellim

Wondering if the girls will break next chapter no way they can keep the 2 episode thing up even if they watch ahead and still only post here twice a week

Justin Spencer

The headband on Gon's head in this episode is similar to Ging's headband in the intro. Really looks like his dad.

ODIS

You've had the channel for 6 years. This means you missed 5 Halloweens. Therefore you owe us 6 horror movies. Time to man up, girls!

Orr Malus

That moment between Gon and Killua is always a highlight for me, the song playing right then, it makes an amazing scene. is it right? idk, in fact I would say no, but what it is, is crazy, completely abnormal which tbf is what the boys are as well, but at the end of the day it is trust and I find beautiful still after many years.

Giancarlo Martinez

I will say, Killua would never hurt Gon just for a win or pride. I definitely think we are starting to see more Ging in Gon

Michael Cannon

I knew you guys would be concerned by Gon this episode, and rightfully so. We’ve seen a constant thread of his selfishness throughout the show, and a determination that borders on obsession, but this is the first time it made me THIS concerned because Killua’s well-being wasn’t where he drew the line. I think it makes his character a lot more fascinating than other main characters tho. I think we’re meant to read it as concerning because every character in the anime is concerned, except Gon & Killau, whose outlooks on the world and friendship are somewhat abnormal & unhealthy. Killua’s attachment to Gon as his first friend, and Gon’s selfish & stubborn nature, makes their perspectives on the situation unreliable to the viewer. Rest assured though, their friendship remains one of the best in anime (imo at least).

jweher

This episode shows the toxic side of Gon and Killua's friendship (I say toxic and exaggerate because they are kids). Killua is ready to destroy himself for Gon, his first real friend, and Gon on the other hand is more focused on his insatiable curiosity and stubbornness. He undoubtedly really loves and cares for Killua but his way of showing it is a bit different.

bondbond53

I live in Brisbane, Australia. It’s is 8.07am Friday here. I was obviously talking about the time in Serbia (11.55 pm) which is where the girls live.

David

Hmm that’s a good observation about Gon’s character. Is he taking things too far by letting Killua get hurt over a win? Maybe… but I think that’s part of their dynamic as friends. Now, they are obviously still kids, so they don’t know how these situations are not normal. Now, what would take for Gon to change his ways? Only the future might tell ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Jack SV

Milena is gonna react to a horror movie? Oh my god I'm beyond excited

HenryM

I usually like thriller movies instead of horror. They're hard for me to enjoy. I would like to see Hereditary though! I haven't seen it, yet

Isaac

Where do you live lol here in New Jersey and east coast it’s only 6:00 pm lol

Jack SV

Tonight ? It’s 11.55pm…. So Milena is posting the full episode of the Wire within the next 5 minutes ?
