I remember getting a Naruto commercial while watching JJK and it was the pink haired girl cutting her hair off, and that was a big sign of her resolve to win the fight. Then it went back to JJK and the girl in that show was hammering nails into her own veins to curse the enemy blood that was in her. One says resolve, the other says new look new me.

I think other anime would be more interesting here. If it were in a poll and everything else were anime that I'm pretty sure they won't like, be it Mushoku Tensei or Redo of Healer, I'd certainly be more likely to pick Made in Abyss.

(I kind of hope they read this comment and choose the show just to spite what I'm saying [reverse psychology] but it may just have the opposite effect [reverse reverse psychology] lol).

Especially the first with it's world building and setting up of David's motivations (even if it seemed like it kind of was generically following some instruction manual for making a story, it really hit those beats accurately and effectively you can say).

I've never seen Made in Abyss but if it happens that many times I'd say it's pretty telling. Even stories with female authors like Sailor Moon have questionable scenes.

After the twentieth time, however, you could assume that the author had other reasons in mind. I would hate to suggest this as a show to react to, even if the story itself was interesting. I'm a clear favorite of the first two, though I don't really have any objections to Ranking of Kings, except that it's another action anime. But if I were to throw a show in, it would just be A Place Further Than The Universe. It would be a completely different show than what we've seen on their channel and I'd like to see other anime that doesn't just have a lot of action and fighting. And if you want to break them completely emotionally, I'd still have Rainbow Nisha, but I kind of don't want to do that to those, as much as they ask for a happy show.

Wouldn't have been my choice for them either, since they look more at characters and Cyberpunk is more convincing with its world building and animations and takes up the idea of chasing dreams from the video game. (I also just wrote only two comments about this anime, simply because I somehow didn't have much more to say about it.) I really hope that the patreons here will consider this if they start a poll again instead of picking a show themselves from the recent recommendations. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an anime without action and at best with a female main character.

2023-09-03 05:15:17 +0000 UTCViolet Evergarden and A Lie in April unfortunately have more sadness than happiness. I'd rather have A Place Further Than the Universe. It's just joyfulness most of the time. But if I have to choose something from the last poll, I would choose one of the two. Ranking of Kings would be sweet, but it's an action anime, and I really want to see an anime with them, that is not focussing on action. And Spy x Family will probably get its second half of season 2 in April - June, so if they start that this month, Spy x Family will pretty much run for a year until August. Could be a pretty good fit, and I love the first season. It was very funny and didn't let go of the main story despite being episodic. But with a 12 month run (50 episodes), I'd have something short for 3 months before that before we block the slot like Hunter x Hunter for a year.

Very character-driven with a lovable cast, amazing story that catches you off-guard, plus the anime is neither too long or too short. Such a gem of an anime, I really think they would love it.

The Rebecca death at the end is what made me dislike the show just so pointless and I found it hard to really care about anyone besides David who you can tell is gonna die early on. Hopefully we get another poll and Ranking of Kings wins like it should’ve the 1st time.

That said, I was still emotionally invested enough to cry a lot in this finale. And I think rewatches are really beneficial - there's a lot of subtle stuff you don't notice the first time when you're still trying to understand the world and remember character names. By now you may have chosen what is replacing this show, but I'll echo some other's sentiments in the hope that it will be a show with a female main character. There are some really good ones out there you guys would enjoy (Puella Magi Madoka Magica is my suggestion, though it is a heavy show I think there's a lot of hope in it too). If not, there were still some other great suggestions like Castlevania and Erased and so on.

2023-09-02 22:35:15 +0000 UTCIdk if you guys pick a show already but these are some finals suggestions for small animated shows: Hells paradise, Neon Genesis Evangelion( Ok this one is 26 episodes and it’s only one season but I will throw it here anyways lol), Dorohedoro, Violet Evergarden.., and lastly Castlevania. Now to be honest, I don’t like Castlevania mostly because the story it’s generic but the animation and characters are great but if I had to pick a popular choice between the other ones, I would rather castlevania to win.
