if you're going to discuss spoilers, maybe use ROT13 to hide the message just in case? its a text cipher that shifts the alphabet around so the message can't easily be read unless you use a translator like rot13.com !

https://hunterxhunter.fandom.com/wiki/Greed_Island_Card_Lists#List_of_the_100_Specified_Slot_Cards this is way better, it really only takes 3 seconds to google it

What do you mean ____ you must mean something... but what?

Shivering King Banana

@Odd *SPOILERS* Gon invites Killua to come with him but Killua decides not to go all the way up, Also I don't remember anyone ever telling Gon what Killua went through. The only reason they're not together right now is because Kil wanted to spend time with ____

HeavenlyR

yes ging always does things the way he thinks it's better regardless of others judgement and gon is the same, if he wants something to be in a certain way he'll just do anything to realize it, we can see it in the first chapter at the fight vs hanzo and all the way to chimera arc

Shaolin H

Again, Gon and Ging are the same. Selfish.

Lil Don075

@Antonio *Spoilers* Also, at the end he doesn't bring Killua to see you know who, when after Greed Island he wanted to bring his best friend in the world. I think though that what Ging said to him really got to him. "When apologizing to a friend, there's a rule. You promise to do things differently next time. And you keep that promise no matter what." Maybe, Gon doesn't trust himself in that moment to keep that promise to Killua and disqualifies himself as Killua's friend. The shame from that whole thing plus the the timing of Alluka who loves Killua unconditionally? Yeah, they need some time apart and Gon needs to slow down and focus on self reflection. I think however Togashi is pretty optimistic, it's just buried underneath so much dark. I trust that it's just a rough patch that can be mended eventually and if not, that's fine it's just another detour in life. New friendships can be made.

~ ~ ~end of show spoilers ~ ~ ~ There's something about their relationship that's bugged me a little more after listening to how LM talk about them for a while. We all know that Gon messes up with Killua in CA arc but then killua saves him and they reconcile. But the fact Killua literally does everything in his power to save Gon (and A) and Gon's apology is essentially "lol sorry xd" and they go their separate ways? It's actually kind of a weird ending for them and I've been wondering if LM would be happy with how that goes cuz Gon's treatment of Killua is such a big point of CA and then it just pfft goes away? Sure its kinda shown several times how Killua is perfectly okay with having things be unspoken between them (the dodgeball hands thing, him telling ikalgo 'Friends dont say thanks') because how devoted he is to Gon but it still doesnt feel like enough. and ohmygod after googling about the ending for a minute, it's even more tragic Gon refers to Killua as "tomodachi"/ "Close friend" the entire show but in his final goodbye he says "Kite says that no matter where we go, we'll always be friends" Using "nakama"/"close acquaintence" here instead of tomodachi, what the hell togashi you cant just do that.

Antonio

It's a heavy implication that anyone with an ounce of literary analytical skills can understand without full context, and is the reason why i absolutely hate going thru anime discussions on something i havent seen yet cuz weebs lack a lot of tact and think their subtle implications and inferences can go under the radar when its literally the some of the biggest spoilers they post. > if only Kurapika and Leorio were there they would handle Ging. > Lmao. if you know you know how is that not a spoiler, it's an absolute minor one cuz it's vague enough sure but it's still a spoiler that implies a happenstance between leorio or kurapika and ging. People aren't internet trolls just because you're annoyed with what they're saying.

Personally I think Killua is at a 10 love level for Gon and Gon is at a 9 for Killua. Yeah Killua values Gon more but Gon kinda saved him from an incredibly lonely life so I think it makes sense that he would. As for the Manga Gon and Killua are currently playing the Kurapika and Leorio roles, as in they're not really in it right now. We probably won't see them in the manga again for a few years honestly.

HeavenlyR

[SPOILER COMMENT DON'T READ (looking at you Milena)] For those who have watched the series, I really want to share my thoughts and ask certain things regarding some parts of this arc because I just finished rewatching it. In the volleyball section, we get to see how much of an idealist/romancer Gon is. I feel like that selfish side of him that needs things to play out in his mind the way he thinks it is shown most blatantly at this moment. During this section, he also looks a lot like Ging. I feel like that's the mangaka trying to show the concerning resemblance between them. I don't think I'm thinking too far into it as well. The mangaka knows what he's doing with the characters and although the Chimera ant arc is amazing and has a great, foreshadowed tonal shift, I really want to see more from the manga. Gon and Killua's relationship is honestly really tragic and I hope they delve deeper into Gon's psychology. I want it to be verbally acknowledged that Killua values Gon so much more than he does for him. So I just wanted to ask if anyone else feels this way about them and was concerned after finishing this arc. Also, does the manga dive deeper into this? I tried not to talk about any specific events just in case one of them read it so I apologize if what I am saying is confusing and if it's not clear about what parts I am referring to.

Komikall

Probably a child

Michael Cannon

Killua's devotion and loyalty to Gon is something so devastatingly pure and beautiful.

mvri

Why would you even say this?

Levi

I wonder how Ging grew up, because he also left home when he was 12. Not having a father might seem natural to him. He found value in what he had experienced and like, maybe in a fucked up way he wants to share that with Gon? That said, its no where near the dysfunction of the Phantom Troupe. Those guys need a complete paradigm shift.

Rex Tan

the ost is so beautiful, for real, like here we are explaining the card system and you are hit with one of the most soothing ost in the whole anime, curious but delightful.

Giancarlo Martinez

LMAO fr

Lil Don075

I feel like even people that are more lukewarm towards Greed Island could enjoy this arc a lot more because of the girls' reaction

bondbond53

The Phantom Troupe: Tortures children in front of their parents so their eyes turn scarlet, and then gouge out the red eyes to sell them L and M: Aw they are just misunderstood, I hope we get to see them goof off and have fun Ging: Performs a wonderful Nen accomplishment by making a real life video game, and even puts in place rules to attempt to limit player on player violence L and M: Sociopath. This guy we don't know must have less emotional intelligence than Gon. (BTW This is a joke, I just thought it was funny, no hate only love <3 )

Billy Overlord

Just the words too bright are not a spoiler.

Shivering King Banana

lol I first read that as the "me too" moment and I was like the hell did you watch? My dyslexia kicked in

David Salazar

One thing you can always count on from Togashi, is him explaining rules. I bet his favorite card game is Yu-Gi-Oh.

Shivering King Banana

It reminds me of the life-cycle of any pvp focused mmo.

Shivering King Banana

The most vague spoiler ever lol relax

Jonathan baez

It is an island of greed and all that comes with greed afterall. I'm sure the creators knew that it'd eventually might get a bit violent. Ging's pretty damn smart to not know that it would happen, but I'm not knocking his judgment on that one. It's up to the players themselves to self moderate.

Rare

The ending of this episode is so beautiful, I love their relationship so much. And I'm pretty excited to see how you feel about that girl

Anto

The second one is a spoiler. Careful there.

Anto

thank you netero-kaichou

Man Themanbro

I wouldn't focus too hard on reading all the spell cards and their descriptions in this arc. The show will mention it and remind us when something is important. Can't wait for the next one. Will be a fun watch!

Camzeee

Something that can't be disregarded is that the game was probably very tame until people like Battera started putting ABSURD 50 billion jenny rewards on it. This ultra violence is certainly a more recent development

Isaac

YOU HAD THE REBELDE ALBUM AS WELL?????? THAT WAS THE FIRST I EVER COMPLETEEEEED also yes this episode is so heartclenchingly cute

AlexCJ

customary wooooo

TuiLa4

It's such a good shot

Isaac

Card sleeves and pages. Miss those days of Pokemon, Yugioh etc

Unholy

This and the too bright moment melt me

Jonathan baez

I don’t think any shot more perfectly encapsulates Gon and Killuas relationship than that one in the thumbnail

Darrach

I knew this moment would be the thumbnail, it hits so hard

Payam Sharifi

I've finished the UNCHARACTERISTICALLY short intro and the full isn't here yet. I'm starting to get shakes. WIll I be alright? I'm not gonna make it 🪦

Isaac

Yay finally let's go. Can't wait to watch it
