I think Rawls ridiculous aggression and constant sexual innuendos make so much sense knowing that he’s a queer guy born in the 60s working in the ultra masculine Baltimore PD. Can’t agree more that he’s hilarious af, oml man has the perfect face for comedy
Appreciate the show having a black man (Daniels) in a romantic and sexual relationship with a white woman (Rhonda). This wasn’t a thing through much of film and tv history, even Will Smith was usually paired with Latina or Black women in his films. Hollywood and television network executives didn’t want Black men to touch “their” women
Really like the evolving discussion in their videos about institutional failure and reform.
Also appreciate Lola pointing out that it’s not solely media that creates the threatening image of black men for police but also the amount of black men and boys that they engage with (for a variety of awful reasons)
Just hoping they can get a cute show like Spy X Family to soften the heavier moments from shows they’re watching 😅

For those watching the full reaction: At 28:29, you can see the poster on the door advertising the fact that the bar will be closed on a particular date and time for filming of The Wire. A nice little easter egg that I'm glad they left in

I've watched this show so many times I know exactly what you're reacting to simply by listening to the audio. It’s also an indication of how strong the writing is when one can close their eyes and listen to a show and still follow what’s happening.
So the opening scene, sees the return of Brother Mouzone to Baltimore in the middle of an intense gang war between Barksdale and Marlo. The girl you see ordering the hoppers into her truck is Snoop. You've seen her in earlier episodes - she was the girl on the motorbike who shot at Poot.
Mouzone’s return is probably bad news for everyone.
