lolas coming from her trip tonight so she’ll also edit the wire tomorrow and post it

HH56 Full Reaction

Comments

Can you please leave the video bar on for a few seconds past the intro so that we can link it up properly by frame

DaSol

They don’t skip to it because they’re recording the screen, if they skip the intro would be harder to edit

Joaquín Calderón

Then Tomorrow comes and it's still Today. Tomorrow is a relative term, we're never getting there. - Bo Burnham

Antonio

“Tomorrow” 🤥🤥🤥

Seni Adeyemi

no edited version? :c

Wallas

do you realise that they already know the current intro by heart...? And yes there are spoilers in the CA intro

Yū Nishinoya

if they say tomorrow that means 3 days later

Bourbon

gotta love gon's sincerity

sunshine

agreed, the whole episode, the whole arc is a masterpiece.

sunshine

I mean, what's even left to ask them in Q&A? lol That was a great interview. Very chill :)

Isaac

mention of a potential LOTR reaction in the first few seconds, i'm hooked!

TuiLa4

man I dont know this was supposed to be on sunday, now it ll probably be on wednesday. always late with hxh reactions

Ammar gayal

Is the edited version missed?

Abdus Samad

Thank you so much for sharing this

Payam Sharifi

Where is the editted version? 😅

Ammar gayal

That totally fits 😅 Like it’s an archetype in fiction but even then Eren and him have so many parallels… damn

space colon

Lots of folks talking here about skipping intros, please don't! They are so good, honestly I don't think they really spoil anything at all.

Billy Overlord

oh my god this is so cool

Wallas

@space1999 I didn't care much for Chrollo on my first watch but now that the backstory overlaps between him and Hisoka have been revealed I have new appreciation for him. Hisoka is the most popular character of HxH and he can be summed up in one paragraph. I don't know of any other parallel where a writer was able to get so much out of so little the way Togashi did. Taking a second look at Chrollo I now realize he's the same: simple character, maximum effect. Just elegant. Btw Eren from AoT is pretty much a copy-paste version of Chrollo. Once you see it you can't unsee it. I wondered at first what was the deal with that slomo scene where he puts the jacket on in the trailer for the final season. Then I saw how women reacted to it and I was like: "Isayama, you dog!". I thought he was a genius for thinking of it but now I realized he just copied Chrollo's look: loose fitting coat, no shirt, abs, slicked back dark hair, and most importantly abs. No woman can resist.

Orr Malus

@A *manga spoiler warning* Hisoka is not conflicted. He is the purest character so to speak with the author even breaking the 4th wall to point this out. Hisoka is the Devil and as such he hunts souls. The anime points this out several times. First instance is where they superimpose an image of the devil over Hisoka's face. Another instance is when Hisoka is explaining his powers to Machi and we can clearly see a devil figure on Hisoka's favorite candy. Another hint is his date of birth: June 6th. A lot of people think he's a pedo but they're both right and wrong. Hisoka acts differently depending on who's there. He's a Hunter true and true and he lures his prey with the appropriate bait. With Gon he acts like a big brother or father figure, with Machi he acts like a charming chad, with Leorio he acts like a friend, with Kurapika he acts like an ally, and with Killua he acts like a pedo because for some reason Killua's really afraid of pedos. For some he's the carrot, for others he's the stick. When Chrollo said that the answer to the question Gon asked is key to his character is Togashi breaking the 4th wall again (Killua's reaction is proof of this). Once you understand that Hisoka hunts souls he becomes one-dimensional with no more "secret" motives. Once you understand that Chrollo is just evil because evil then he's no longer a mystery. You might ask yourself "Yes, but WHY is Chrollo evil?" which is a question Togashi already answered through Hisoka: Who knows? It is what it is.

Orr Malus

@Orr Malus I personally think that Chrollo saying this wasn’t fully indicative of his and the troupes real desires. I also think when they say evil it’s not evil for the sake of evil but rather evil to establish an identity and presence, to find a sense of agency and not be victims I think Hisoka is a character who isn’t really a troupe member and directly contrasts Chrollo

space colon

@Odd I think everything your laying out really aligns with Togashi’s writing in general but this arc especially! I’m genuinely excited for LM to finish the arc because of the discussions that will come from those episodes (especially Kurapika’s choice) What I love about HxH is that these themes continue to be played with in characters going forward, especially the societal notions of evil and hell that sway most people’s decisions. The characters who’s beliefs don’t align with these commonly accepted morals are continually contrasted against each other, everyone who strays from the norm has distinct motivations I love that HxH gives us such variety with character morality (full dnd alignment chart)

space colon

*manga spoiler warning* In Chrollo's backstory he declares that the PT is dedicated to evil alone. The only times the troupe is seen to be humane is when Chrollo is not around. And the conflict between the troupe members always have Chrollo at the center. It's a cult built on manipulation and lies. Kurapika thinks that in order to stop the troupe he needs to cut off all the spider's legs but this is a lie the cult leader (Chrollo) tricked his disciples into believing. Hisoka is the only one that figured it out and told Kurapika the exact opposite: cut off the head and the legs will follow. Hisoka is relevant because he's also a devil archetype character (cackling pointy-tailed pitchfork kind to be more specific). Hisoka and Chrollo have similar backstories (public entertainment performers) the main difference being that Hisoka managed to save his friend from being murdered by a serial killer whereas Chrollo failed. Hisoka is a true Hunter but a hunter of souls. He's not interested in the other PT members because their souls already belong to Chrollo (same goes for Kurapika). This is speculation on my part but I think the upcoming showdown between Hisoka and the PT will conclude with Hisoka as the new leader. His new appearance is a clear indication of this. Hisoka is pretty much cosplaying as young Chrollo: https://i.imgur.com/flZs5Va.jpg

Orr Malus

@space1999 I think there's an idea being played with that fear of evil or hell is enough to put most people on the right path. Not necessarily because it's the right thing to do, but that most people are afraid of retribution. That's the bedrock of revenge. I think, sometimes people are reflections of the world around them. Kurapika's choice at the end of Yorknew may or may not come back as good karma (if you believe in that).

Rare

😂😂😂 I want to believe...

TeaDrinker3000

Orr Malus is Hisoka ever conflicted about his evil deeds? Where is this conflict coming if not from that core of his that is good. Why would Gon's question send him into philosophy mode if it wasn't something he thinks about. You have to understand when I say he's a good person I'm not saying he's not evil. There's a good core under many layers of Machiavellian evil. Machiavelli is often thought of as evil and heartless, but he clearly states his main goal is to unify Italy and stop the waste of life that was going on. He talked about killing and destroying cities with the goal of peace. It's justified violence taken to the extreme. Chrollo's goal is to protect those who are close to him. Meteor City is his Italy. Where is Chrollos internal conflict coming from if not some good core that understands and is bother by his evil deeds?

Shivering King Banana

Still holding out hope for that QnA video huh? You're much more optimistic than me 😅 It's weird seeing them... not on their couch lmao, I'll listen to this while at work, thanks!

HenryM

@Orr Malus Without getting into recent manga flashbacks I think the idea with the parallel is that Lucifer was cast out of heaven, similar to Chrollo being from Meteor city Lucifer is often depicted as a tragic character who fell into evil I don’t think the troupe as a whole do evil things for evils sake

space colon

In case you don't follow the girls on Twitter, they are on the newest episode of The Reactorverse discussing the past present and future of the channel for 80 minutes. Great to see you get the publicity girls! It's totally surreal seeing the two of you interact with another human being outside of a comment section. I will not accept this as a replacement for the QnA video, however... 😉 https://youtu.be/6BWNskyPLCs

TeaDrinker3000

@A Strongly agree! It frustrates me when members of the fandom dismiss his character as “edgy, dumb, not thought out” or whatever else In a lot of ways he brilliantly contrasts Kurapika, Gon, Killua and even Hisoka with his critical approach to his decisions and worldview

space colon

His last name is Lucifer, he wears an inverted cross with devil horns, he's got a mark on his forehead like Cain, he tortures and kills innocent children and babies, he's a thief, a liar, and a manipulator. He's even got a cult of 12 people who's only mission is to do evil for the sake of evil. I do love what Togashi did with his character. He made it so obvious that he's the Antichrist (Satan) that almost nobody sees what's right in front of them even till this day. He applied the same strategy with Hisoka with the 2011 anime spelling it out for everyone first episode the character is introduced.

Orr Malus

I think Chrollo is a good person who is going through a great conflict in his soul. I also think you're right about the troupe giving him a sense of agency. His first evil deeds were reactive. If he had his own anime we would have been cheering him on like many cheer on Gon. Eventually he realized that being on the attack was better than being on the defense. He still justifies it, or at least he did for a while, as "because there not us" I can't remember the exact words but that was his first reply to Gon's question. He's not satisfied with that answer though and that's where his internal conflict comes from.

Shivering King Banana

They should skip the intros until the final episodes these are shown so they at least know what is in them. GI and CA intros have a lot of spoilers.

Anto

That's definitely a point of view that I hardly disagree on. Pretty sure you can apply that logic with any part of any anime adaptation of every manga. They could, and probably should, skip the intros sometimes but these intros are the studio's intended way to consume the story.

Anto

Yeah. They should probably skip it, I didn't remember any spoilers when I watched but I did now some of the plot points and characters previously and they probably don't.

Anto

I think Chrollo does all the things he does to have some kind of feeling of agency, him and the Spiders don’t exist if they aren’t acting out His mind and soul are like a blank canvas to a degree, his identity comes from him being part of The Troupe. Without the Troupe existing and doing what they do (even without him) he can’t exist anymore He says “I want to believe in an after life” and then the troupe have their eulogy for Uvo by killing all the mafia they can hoping Uvo can hear their destruction from beyond the grave. I think they would do a similar “eulogy” for any of the Troupe who died, they only caused destruction because that was what Uvo would have wanted for his “eulogy” (also to get revenge lol)

space1999

I can go into depth! I wouldn't actually say the character is queer. The Manga and show really don't deal with romantic love, more so the Philial or brotherly love types. But kurapika as a person written by the author clearly reads differently to our eyes as not clear when it comes to gender. Feminine voice, look etc, notable different use of pronouns in the Japanese text. So I would say he is queer coded in that it's not explicit whatsoever and we will never explore that, but the author had intent when he made Kurapika different than all the other males in the series. Just like they did with Killua's little brother. It's intentionally different from what we expect from Anime Shonen Male Fighter. Traits that are often used and associated with characters in queer art. And thus, queer coded.

Michael Cannon

I have seen people say Kurapika is "queer-coded" and it sounds very interesting to me, but they never elaborate.

Tom

Love this Kurapika look. In the Japanese manga, Kurapika uses the pronoun "watashi," which is a formal, gender-neutral pronoun most often used by women. We stan our queer icon

Michael Cannon

The only thing I'd like them to skip is the 2nd CA outro for the 8 or so episodes until that one thing happens.

Sauli

The intro to HxH clashes strongly with the tone of the CA arc.

Shivering King Banana

Gon: "How can you kill someone who has nothing to do with you?" Killua next to him: '-_-

J.M.

Chrollo and Gon's scene AND Squala and Pakunoda's scene are masterpieces

HgPt

The show wasn't meant to be watched with binge sessions, so it makes perfectly sense to be annoyed by the intro if you watch multiple episodes in just 1 day

Yū Nishinoya

the medium is not the same hopefully you realize that.. 99% of film/animated shows have intros thats the way of the world and how its always been, theyre made for a reason and is part of the finished project setting the mood/tone for the respective seasons. so yes it is the intended way to watch on screen.

Toidleboy

unfortunately, it looks like they're no longer available. if you search month by month HH posts start showing up in March 2023 (ep 12), but beyond on that there are no more HH posts.

on crip ...

CA arc intro spoils the big twist. So does the GI intro but that ones not as big a deal.

Shivering King Banana

NO

Wallas

I don't care about not skipping intros during this arc or the next one but Chimera arc has huge spoilers on it so I'd recommend skipping it

Dario Campos

the only thing its spoils is the characters themselves. if they want to be fully unaware of the characters’ appearances until they are introduced, then i say skip intro.

Giovanni V

The intro is only there to drag out screentime. Manga doesnt have an intro ech chapter so it is not the intended way to consume the story.

Samsara

This is the shit's real son episode. Glad Squala got the dogs to run off, he knew what time it was. Poor Eliza though

Karabo

the video keeps buffering on google chrome, how do you guys solve this for full lengths? I paused it for 20 minutes, that worked

Karabo

Nah there’s a reason ‘skip intro’ button exist

Velvet

nah the intro is part of the show

Toidleboy

This conversation again... They should watch the show how it was meant to be watched. Intro's only have spoilers if you already watched the show and ex post facto understand all the references. Plus you saying intro's have spoilers is counter productive because now they know what to look for. Hell, why not have them stop analyzing and talking about the show altogether? It's only a matter of time until they predict some future event and spoil the reaction themselves. Also why are they even watching Hunterpedia in the first place? It completely spoiled the reveal that Nobunaga is an Enhancer. Oh, and let's not get into subtitles. What happens when they read the subtitles one second faster than the voice actor says it? No, they should just learn Japanese and then react to the show.

Orr Malus

I've never seen a book cover that spoils the story. It's better if they watch it at a point where it won't spoil the twists of the story. Most intros show things in a way you don't understand what's going on until after you see the show but the CA intro is really obvious in what it spoils. They discuss before the intro starts, skipping them won't change that.

Shivering King Banana

Skip intro please, we can just sync on frame

Velvet

Nah. I like that L+M have a few mins to sit and discuss the episode upcoming in that time. Also their surprise when the intros change is great.

Camzeee

Telling someone to skip an intro is like telling someone to not look at the cover of the book you want them to read. It's part of the experience, god damn

Nathan Elkin

I think it would be fine to skip the intros. main concern is syncing for full length reactions.

Flubbedsquid

Do you know where or what they're called , because I checked any way it would've been called and I looked through all their posts from January until April to no avail!

Hennessey

I think they should skip intros but maybe at least add a time stamp of where they are in the show? That would be much appreciated if it's not too much trouble. I thoroughly enjoy the Full Episode reactions but HxH.

David Salazar

They should definitely skip the majority of CA intros. A lot of straight up spoilers that they're observant enough to notice. Also I'm tired of watching the intro.

Shivering King Banana

I don't agree with skipping intros except if they're watching a bunch in one session. OPs serve a purpose and don't spoil any more than a cold open or prologue spoils. If OPs legitimately spoiled they wouldn't be made the way they are.

Tom

My God. I hope they watched the next two episodes lol. Great reaction ha I remember watching this the first time and my heart started racing.

David Salazar

I think the GI intro is beyond fine to watch. This isn't Attack on Titan territory at all. On the subject of skipping intros when they binge, it's an extra edit to do which might get in the way of releases. I don't care either way

Isaac

I'm all for skipping intros

HenryM

I agree, they shouldn’t watch anymore of the intros, for GI or CA arc. They should also refrain from looking at the next episodes thumbnails.

Jay

Considering they're not too pleased with the intro at the moment, what do people think of them skipping the intro in the arc after the next one? Is very spoiler heavy imo and think they'd appreciate jumping straight into an episode

Kya Colosseum

They're there just not tagged

Kya Colosseum

I didn't really know where to ask this but, does anyone know where to find the full reactions for the first 12 episodes of this series? I went all the way back in the HH tag but could only go as far back as episode 12, does anyone know if they reuploaded them somehow?

Hennessey

the whole irl rain at the end of the episode, chef kiss, can't get better content than this

Alejandro González

Con esto me basta para calmar la ansiedad <3

Basti

No puedo aguantar hasta mañana
