It’s more a problem with the show if they still don’t care about most of the characters over half way through the series. I mean at this point I feel like I know what they like and ranking of kings just fits the bill better than cyberpunk and it doesn’t help that it’s hard to understand the world of cyberpunk if you’re not already familiar with it.

2023-08-06 00:32:21 +0000 UTCThe unfortunate thing is that cyberpsychosis can be treated with therapy, but it takes a squad of people to subdue the person. Which is, of course, expensive and available to only the privileged. These people are just mentally unwell, however because of their implants they just are too dangerous. On the topic of backstories, I think it plays a lot into the themes of the show. Everyone has their story, but their be snuffed out like a small candle. There's a sense of deep isolation for both the characters and the audience. A shared misery. Life flows so fast in Night City, that you don't even get time to cry or mourn. Too fast to even form connections.
