Tried it again and it looks like it got age-restricted so you have to go through to watch it on youtube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrBYLFWyp2I

Jay Craig

Anyone else having trouble playing the video, been trying since yesterday but keeps buffering. Their other videos play fine.

Dang, it's a pity I'm unable to watch the full reactions a lot of the time. I'd pick up on so much.

Although I disagree with most of you guys takes when it comes to Avon, the one thing you guys hit the nail on the head is that Stringer is Business smart, BUT Avon is Street smart. It’s why they work so well together because they balance each other out but now that significant difference in their personalities is starting to become an issue. How Stringer handled the Brother Mouzone situation perfectly illustrates that he is just NOT FIT to be at the head of the table, at least in my opinion. It’s why I believe Avon hesitated the fist bump, he was pondering if leaving Stringer in complete control was a good idea after hearing about Brother. Also something to think about: This is the second time we have heard about Avons father, first D mentioned him in season 1 when talking to McNulty and Bunk, he asked if they knew him and Bunk answered yes, and he basically said something along the lines of he was ruthless. And now in this episode Butchie mentioned him to Omar and said he was plain evil. Now knowing that, you can kind of speculate what Avons childhood might of been like, it’s those subtle but great details that explains Avon as a character and why he is the way he is and how at the end of the day, The Street is all he knows, but what I always found so fascinating about Avon is that he still had the determination to keep his family with him. I’m sure everything in his core was telling him to cut D loose and kill him just cuz of how that’s what you’re supposed to do to someone that you can’t trust won’t flip on you, but he still refused to hurt D. It’s what makes what Stringer did so horrible. I hope in S3 you ladies can get a better understanding of Avon, not necessarily to like him but I have seen other reactors completely miss the mark in analyzing his character and it always frustrates me because Avon, to me is probably THE most fascinating character in The Wire. The amount of layers to the character is unmatched. I don’t think any other character has as much depth as him. Can’t wait to see your reactions to S3, it should be great to say the least!!!!

Not quite sure if I want to hear the lyrics "way down in the hole" before Saul talks about his Chicago sunroof, hahaha

Mike Miner

I think they got mixed up when Butchie said he wanted his nephew to oversee Omar's talk with Stringer. Butchie acts as Omar's bank and gives him sage advice. But not his uncle.

Doug

You did not discuss the most important part of this season. If the union does not exist anymore, does the church window stay there or will it be replaced by the police window.

"Bitch!" - Jesse

Orr Malus

The scene where Bunk & Beadie go to the port security guard and get the video tapes. The scene where the feds go to the union office & Ott pulls down his own election poster and leaves only Franks pic there and says “one man, one vote” - knowing full well that action means the union will be dissolved. The scene where Daniels gets the phone call at home and we see that he is sleeping on the couch, meaning his marriage is in trouble.

David

Butchie is not Omar’s uncle

David

Hell yeah my dude

Imagine if Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul had the epigraph (ie. The quote) at the beginning of each episode? Such a dialogue-rich show would benefit so much from it.

TeaDrinker3000

Season 1's ending montage music was so good though.

TeaDrinker3000

What did they cut?

TeaDrinker3000

I've always seen the Greek as being from Cyprus. Which is to say, he's culturally Greek, and certainly speaks Greek, but he does not have Greek citizenship. And yeah, the guy they killed was Turkish.

Nubile Reptile

Geez that was a brutal edit 😂 You completely cut out some good scenes.

David

This is definitely my favorite of all the season-end montages. Steve Earle's music feels so right for the imagery.

Mike Conlin

I AM SO HYPED FOR THE NEXT SEASON!!! That is all.

Doug

I just finished the series. I cant even describe how i feel. Im taking a break

ReactorHero

hell yeah

I've only seen a few episodes into s3 at this point so I'm only slightly ahead of you guys. But this finale and season gave me a lot of emotions. I think my only real complaint for the season was that there wasn't enough Omar. (Mild S3 spoilers) F3 frrzf gb or pbeerpgvat guvf birefvtug yby, nyy gur Bzne fghss va gung unf orra terng. The fact that The Greek just walks away is both infuriating and tragic. And also feels pretty real. IDK if it will be something that comes up again later on, but even if it doesn't it leaves a very heavy feeling. Actually this whole finale feels very... "ends not with a bang but a whimper", and I mean that in a good way.

cosmotron

FINALLY omg ty vacation-internet
