2023-06-01 21:58:51 +0000 UTCAn emitter's strength is projecting their aura the furthest without losing power. Actually creating flame would be a transmuter ability, as your aura itself has become fire. An emitter could still use transmutation abilities, however they'd only be able to transmute their aura into flame at 60% of their total power. Their flame bursts would travel the furthest out of all nen types, all else being equal.

2023-06-01 21:45:33 +0000 UTCHere are the nen types with a lot of Avatar examples attached: Enhancer - They make things stronger with their aura. Capable of throwing the hardest punches and healing from wounds the fastest. Healing abilities and raw punching/kicking/slashing abilities are this type's forte. Transmuter - Change the property of their aura. Hisoka's Bungee Gum, the creepy guys nen hand and The Phantom Troupe member's stitches are all examples. The ability to create fire from Avatar would be a transmuter ability, but controlling it would be the ability of a... Manipulator - Can move and control objects or people using aura. Gido's tops movements relied on this, as did Kastro's puppet to move. Bending any element would be considered a manipulator ability, as it involves controlling them. Emitter - Can propel their aura the best. Their aura retains power furthest relative to other nen types, think Combustion Man or P'Li Conjurer - Create constructs/objects out of nen. Kastro creating a whole human is the only example in the show so far, but Father at the end of Full Metal alchemist showed this type of power. Specialist - Think energy bending. Falls outside the bounds of any other specific category. It's a LOT I know, but think once you get to grips with how everything fits together it makes the rest of the story that much more engaging.

You guys will get used to it after nen is used more and more but I love Nen because it allows people to have such different abilities.
