2023-05-28 05:14:04 +0000 UTCThe way I do it is by right-clicking on the Max screen when the episode is paused, clicking “Inspect” then towards the bottom click the tab titled “Console” and type in the following: document.querySelector(‘video’).playbackRate = 1.0428 and hit enter. You'll know it worked when it outputs the playbackRate number after you hit enter. I only have to pause and unpause about 3 times per episode - every 15 mins or so and it's super easy to get it synced again. I'm sure you can fine-tune the number more to get it exact but it's plenty good enough for me like this. I watch on 2 monitors though I don't think this would work if you use picture-in-picture mode.

2023-05-28 02:02:58 +0000 UTCSo it seems to vary from state to state slightly but it seems like across the country minors can be questioned without a parent or guardian present if they are suspected to be a victim/witness/suspect of a crime. Doesn't technically count as an arrest if they are a minor (Bodie was just being held in temporary custody until he could get transferred to juvenile detainment) but every single state protects citizens under the 5th and 6th amendments so both Bodie and Wallace wouldn't be able to incriminate themselves and would have access to a lawyer and wouldn't have to speak to police until their lawyer or guardian was present https://ncpro.sog.unc.edu/manual/504-1 Best link I could find, applies to my state but from what I've read it seems to be very similar in Maryland (where "The Wire" takes place) with the exception that Maryland recently passed legislation that prevents police from interrogating minors at all until they've consulted with an attorney (thank god) Kills me how witness protection is so selective... "no way a deputy will approve man power to stash a 16 year old or pay for room service in a hotel 6 months" wtf... Love the contrast between Avon and Stringer's relationship with the relationships in law enforcement. Stringer is so quick to protect Avon while Daniels and Mcnulty are constantly under fire for doing their job. Drives me crazy how Mcnulty behaves, feel super validated that both Milena and Lola are so quick to call his and everyone else's shitty behavior out (especially everyone in law enforcement)

2023-05-28 01:59:27 +0000 UTCLol, Lola always asking "How is this Legal?" When talking about the police and their ways of investigating? The answer will always be IT'S NOT. The cops are just as much criminals as the criminals. They just pretend to be better and that they are doing it for Justice. Which is why in this show, I always found myself rooting for the drug dealers, they always seemed a little more honest to me with themselves and how they live their lives.

2023-05-28 01:06:46 +0000 UTCFor the people having sync issues due to the differences between US and Europe frame rates, I found an easy solution: 1. Open their video in vimeo instead of playing it directly on Patreon (just click the video title) 2. In Chrome, press F12 to open the Dev tools 3. Click the Console tab 4. Paste the following command and press Enter: document.querySelector('video').playbackRate = 0.9591; 5. You'll know this worked if the console then displays 0.9591. This will make LM's video speed match the episode. You can close the Dev Tools panel, you don't need to keep it open. You'll have to run that command for every video. 6. In theory this should work with other browsers but I haven't tested it.

No over the top music or a million camera cuts, just the frantic audio of all the police over the radio trying to work out what is going on and you basically see none of the actual shooting which is what most shows would focus on. Absolutely captivating to watch, it's nigh perfect imo

Play it on a player that supports precise video speeds, I had to google to find one, I'm using something called potplayer which works fine. 3. Set their video speed to 0.0959 4. Open your copy of the wire on vlc or whatever 5. Sync

Also, to be selfish, I hope you don't change how you watch this show because your version actually lines up with mine from Sky Atlantic / NowTV perfectly, whereas I was one of the few who had the opposite problem with The Last of Us where my copy was much faster than yours ^_^;
