Another thing you can try is getting a Video Speed Controller browser extension and slowing down LM's video on Vimeo. I found one that lets me change the increments of the speed and I can get it matched up pretty close to where I only have to readjust it a few times an episode which I don't really mind.

The closest way to sync it is by changing the native playback rate of HBO Max or whatever you are watching on. You can do this by right-clicking on the HBO Max screen when the episode is paused, clicking “Inspect” then towards the bottom click the tab titled “Console” and type in the following document.querySelector(‘video’).playbackRate = 1.0428 and hit enter. You'll know it worked when it outputs the playbackRate number after you hit enter. I only have to pause and unpause about 3 times per episode - every 15 mins or so and it's super easy to get it synced again. I'm sure you can fine-tune the number more to get it exact but it's plenty good enough for me like this. I watch on 2 monitors though I don't think this would work if you use picture-in-picture mode.

If you've the episode downloaded, you could always convert the video file through a python script to get it to 25fps

I use MPC-HC too but I'm struggling to find how to do what you said.

If you're watching with a downloaded version of the show, use a video player that can play in 25 fps. VLC can't do it, the best you can do there is 1.04x speed, which still doesn't line up exactly. I use MPC-HC, go to playback rate and select 25fps, it matches perfectly.

I don't know if anyone else has suggested this, but I really hope you can get a US copy of the show somehow for the next seasons. Even with the syncing "fixes" posted on the first ep post I still have to pause and then unpause like a hundred times throughout the reaction as it gradually desyncs and it's such a pain. It's easy enough to find a torrent of the blu-ray of all five seasons, which should be the 24fps copy most of us are watching along with and will solve the desync issue.

Max, it really doesn’t matter how many likes a show is getting. If it won a poll and they’re enjoying it, they’ll keep watching it. And if they stop enjoying a show, even if a load of people want them to continue it, they will just drop it, like they did with the 100 & Walking Dead. And you say you subscribed for Vinland right, and you’re complaining that you’re only getting one episode a week? Surely they’re caught up with that? And it’s being released weekly, so how exactly are they meant to watch more or upload what hasn’t even been released yet?

Max, you're still confused. YOU pay to watch what they offer. Not the other way around. If you don't like what they offer, don't pay. It's really simple. They're doing just fine without you, and no one seems to be complaining except you. Leave your sense of entitlement at the door. You're the only one here with the emotional bias.

Vinland Saga 72 likes, The Wire 28 likes, Midnight Mass 22 likes. 10 euros/month for 1 episode/week, same pace of youtube. This was my first subscription and I won't renew it. It's not specifically about The Wire, they don't have to watch stuff I like but stuff most subscribers like since they pay for it (and no, the poll mechanism is inefficient), to me it looks reasonable not confused and since I've paid I can complain about it. I won't insist since your emotional bias is evident and discussion with fanatics is impossible, I don't like people who lie either(saying that they do it just for fun is a lie) but if it makes you all feel better I appreciate a lot Milena and Lola too and I'll keep watching them...just for free.

I don't think they care about how popular one show is compared to another. They're doing the shows they want to watch. They're loving this show and making money by watching it, it makes sense to me.

Why are you here and posting on this reaction? Why are you even subbed? It's much easier to skip a show over if you're not watching it. L+M are amazing because they cover lots of different shows that cater to lots of people. I bet very few people watch everything they watch. Atm I'm only watching 2 of the shows they react to and that's okay. Let others enjoy what they want and as long as L+M are happy with the shows they're watching that's all that matters.

"Civil forfeiture" is a weird legal concept. All the cops need is a reasonable suspicion that an object (a car, money, a suitcase etc.) was used in the commission of crime to take it. The charge is against the object, not the person. And if you're thinking this could be abused, you would be correct. The low threshold for evidence and large amounts of money involved is a breeding ground for corruption. The only reason that driver got the money back was because he was politically connected. Wallace and Dee are just tragic in this ep. They very much want out of the game, but there's no way for either of them

One thing to keep in mind is that Baltimore is a large city. Avon doesn't really have that much territory, certainly not the entire city. His territory is mostly the west side of Baltimore. You haven't really met any characters from other parts of Baltimore yet.

The scene with the little girl explaining to Wallace that she's able to do the math when she's afraid of getting beaten is heartbreaking. Very few shows can make me as emotional as The Wire does without any music.
