Kalluto is actually a boy! And it's funny cause I found out about this way long after my first watch of the series. Togashi ( HunterxHunter's creator) is actually pretty big into including gender diversity and ambiguity and LGBTQ+ characters. He probably took inspiration from his wife, who happens to be Sailor Moon's creator.

Right but recap is not filler. Its simply recap. Filler is meant to "fill" a space that is blank and need to be occupied. Its literally meant to drag a series to some future purpose. Usually to feel the schedule or something. Recap episodes at least have a purpose to recap.

Arcs aren’t all the same length, there’s some short ones and some really long ones, they’re all different

They only need to open the first gate to meet the requirements. The rest are just for flexing (and maybe a way for the family to see how strong is the person that's going in so they know who they're dealing with)

Regarding the Testing Gates, it's basically just one big gate that has different tiers, rather than multiple physical gates. The more force you use when opening will determine how many tiers of the gates you will open. Zebro mentioned Killua opened 3 gates when he returned, meaning he used at least 16 tons of force. None of this really matters but I thought I'd try to clear it up a little bit.
