Gon is a fascinating character, and I find where people go wrong is assuming he thinks like a kid. Gon can be quite slow mentally at times, but that's usually because any new information he tries to understand has to be interpreted in his unique way of understanding the world. People see Gon try to solve a problem, seemingly find a solution, and assume he made the right choice because the outcome was positive, but what the show never tells you is how exactly Gon interpreted the information. He keeps things simple, and the audience usually doesn't question it, but it's an important distinction about his character.

I think an important thing to remember when watching this show is not to assume what a character is like before you seem them in action. There are plenty of characters in this show with unique motivations, and it's easy to subscribe to one person's perspective and miss the entire point of what's happening.

I like how each arc flows into the next sometimes things happening in a previous arc will have almost no connection. Outro and intro music for hxh is just so fun and energetic can’t wait to see you experience the rest of them

One of the things that I think this show does the best out of any show I've ever watched is the portrayal of friendship. It is so pure and I've never seen a group of characters care so much for each other like in this anime. I love that Leorio has won you ladies over. I knew he would. Not saying you hated him or anything but you weren't too impressed by him. Everyone plays their role in the group and I feel like, aside from his medical experience, Leorio is the guy who just can't sit by and watch people, especially his friends, be insulted, hurt, lied to, etc. He WILL call people out for it. He called out Hanzo when he was beating up Gon (even though it wasn't malicous), he called out Illumi and the bullshit he was saying to Killua, he didn't let Killua dwell in the idea that him and Gon might not be friends and he instantly said, "No, you and Gon ARE friends." Also, I feel like he's the character that says what the viewer wants to say but can't. He's done that a lot in the anime so far. Most notably, once again, when he told Killua not to listen to Illumi's bullshit and that him and Gon ARE friends. I feel like EVERYONE watching wanted someone to tell Illumi to shut the fuck up. Lol.

well hohenheim was also on a mission. he wanted to be with edward/al but his mission to defeat Father and avenge the souls within them was more important. while he isnt winning dad of the year reward, one could argue Hohenheim had almost no choice but to leave Edward in order to stop a country ending evil

I appreciate the Hunter Exam Arc much more on rewatch, I think it does a really good job setting up the main characters and getting you invested in their stories. Onto the next arc!

I always find it interesting that a lot of ppl (including myself) don't think that HxH is as modern as it is until this episode. It's funny because we all see Nicolas use a laptop earlier, but it still doesn't really connect until later.

Starting from ep 27, there's gonna be a short funny info tidbit after the credits. Just my 2 cents, I'd like to see you watch it, you just would have to be quick to pause because the preview starts immediately after that. Also, I'm always a bit bummed for the endings being excluded from the reactions. Especially with this show's ed's starting from the next one, they're an important part of the experience for me. Good time to have your immediate thoughts and emotions. And vibe to the song.
