Faris

I know I am late to reacting but it says it won’t let me play the video on patreon ? 😞 it keeps saying video does not exist… idk why?

Jesse Carmines

preciate it

Faris

It's on YouTube.

AOT is great but the ending does suck though. Isayama himself stated that he didn't like it.

Merlin

The people suddenly hating are some of the most shallow human being I've heard of I swear... They dimiss the entire show and all the things it represents, all the amazing characters it created, just because in the end they were unsatisfied. Truly annoying. One of the reasons I'm even on Patreon is because of the constructive fans who aren't annoying or childish. I've read the manga finish too and I'm satisfied. It's still the greatest show for me.

MinaOrano

Thank you Teadrinker, that's exactly why this channel is my favorite for AoT reactions, they get it and talk about it so in-depth, I love it! I think Isayama would be proud if he ever watched Milena and Lola's reaction videos on his masterpiece.

CuremyApathy

I ended up reading the ending to AoT on Wikipedia last December because I'd heard that the fanbase had reacted poorly to Isayama's decision. And I was gutted to both read the ending and now to have watched (the first half of) it. It truly saddens me to see one of the greatest stories of any medium in modern times to have been dismissed by an audience whom most likely pnly watched the show on a surface level, and for Isayama to have consequently been disheartened. The LM Reactions channel has been a godsend in that I *know* that there are people who can see the deeper significance for characters in AoT. Both for the girls and everyone else on this Patron, thank you for being such well committed fans. I look forward to October.

TeaDrinker3000

One of my favourite things about this channel is that no matter how long a review is, you'll have a group of us reassuring you that we enjoy long reviews!

TeaDrinker3000

It comes out in Fall. I don't think we know the exact month yet

tom

The next one might be longer but could be the same. This is 4 chapters, the next one is 5. It depends on how they adapt the dialogue and action, and if they add/cut anything

tom

To answer your question, when the chapter came out of Ramzi/Halil being killed by the rumbling, a fair number of people did question and seemingly change their mind on the rumbling. It's sort of funny, like what did you expect to happen? But I think a lot of those people jumped back on the Eren train as things progressed. It's bizarre but a lot of people REALLY hate the Alliance, especially the ones from Paradis, just flat out cannot stand them and can't separate them from the idea of opposing the rumbling

tom

Random note before I continue. I've mentioned before how yall should fix the monitor setting for brightness/gamma reasons when things are so dark (live action mostly) that you can't see it, but I feel like your speakers are really worn too. Like music will peak really easily

tom

I also think a big point of the series is to show how easy it is for people to find justification for acts of horror. I think it's natural that there are so many jaegerists. After all, that's why the cycle exists in the first place.

Jag_227

Ooh let me check it out x

MinaOrano

https://youtu.be/OrQ0zZArUV8 Yeah, love Eren so much ❤️😭 This comment made me think of this song. The lyrics really capture how I feel towards Eren. Especially the lyrics at the end of the song

Jag_227

For me, Eren dying is gonna hurt the most out of everyone else who've died previously.... he's completely wrong in what he's doing and super twisted in the head and he should die (genocide is wrong wtf) but he's my favourite character and I love him (I think it's because we saw him grow up and go through everything he had) and it's just gonna break me even though I know it must happen 😢 I know Mikasa is gonna kill him it's obvious and it's gonna make everything even sadder. I'm not prepared to hear Mikasa cry either. Gosh I should not watch the end if I want to save therapy money.

MinaOrano

It's out bro! We're fed well this week ahah

MinaOrano

It is ridiculous how well the writing, animation and voice acting are. I am no longer sad that the show is ending, only grateful that my 10-year emotional investment in the show was rewarded with perfection.

Steven Jeanrolus

I just finished watching the full reaction but now i refreshed and it's not here anymore idk what happened honestly

Andor

*Praying to the Vinland gods*

Saifu

Endlessly refreshing for vinland xd

Hi, I would like to share with you this recent interview with english subs of Isayama (no spoilers) when he was invited to the Angouleme Comics Festival in France. I know he also visited New York. He says in the interview that he likes to watch foreigners reactions to the Anime in youtube, so maybe he came accross lm reactions :) especially if it’s 2 hours of content, that could intrigue him 😂 https://youtu.be/jSFXpZql9qo

Eren Yeager

Maybe you should have just titled this video "Pain." That perhaps could have been more fitting lol

A

That would have been my guess as well but I would also add "USA". The whole Left vs. Right dichotomy is extreme in America which tricks people into accepting radical positions based on what team they identify with.

Orr Malus

When someone unironically says Eren did nothing wrong or King Floch RED FLAGGGGGGS literally run far away from those psychopaths. Like you said, all of us can see and understand how characters like Eren and Floch came to be the way they are, and we can even empathize to an extent. But literally, to see so much of the fandom proudly arguing FOR GENOCIDE is absolutely disgusting, and those people absolutely missed the point of the show. That kind of warped mentality are the reason why people like the Marleyans exist in the first place and why the world is oppressive and hateful.

B

My interpretation of Eren being a child in path... As Reiner said in this episode, "Committing genocide is not something that a person can just bear." One aspect of titan powers that has been shown but not used often is the "consciousness transfer" ability. The first moment of the series is Eren asleep and dreaming by the tree. He wakes up not knowing why he's crying. I think from the moment Eren received the Founding Titan power, he transferred his child consciousness from that moment by the tree through time to the present. Unlike Reiner who transferred his consciousness from his brain to parts of his body, Eren is connected through the Coordinate to the past, present, and future time. We see that Eren is so conflicted about doing the Rumbling. He transferred his child self because he would not be able to be conscious to witness the act of killing humanity. Using the Founding Titan mental powers, he gave that child consciousness visions that he was flying like a bird through the clouds. When in reality, he was flying over the land, leading the march of colossal titans. When it's all over, Eren's child consciousness returns to that tree with Mikasa. He wakes up thinking he had a really long dream that he doesn't remember. He is crying because he just "came back" from carrying out mass genocide and his body is having an unconscious reaction to the fact he was just murdering millions of humans. That's why we don't see older Eren in the paths. Eren is in the Founding Titan body unconsciously moving forward while his child consciousness has been brought into the paths and tricked through the visions to act as the "will" to keep moving forward. Because he thinks he is merely a bird flying through the clouds. When it's over, Eren wakes up into the past. That is why he is bound by destiny, and struggles so much with the inability to change the future. It has all already happened by his choice. And he can merely play his role until he arrives at that fated moment in the future. He is bound by that future that he cannot change because he has already decided it.

Jag_227

lol, thanks! Of course I saw this only after I finished watching this. Oh well, hahaha.

Here is the song without somebody creating a character in DAZ Studio :D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=245tXQGZSPM

Robert H.

Do you all do an unedited version on Patreon? It seems not, I kind of wish we didn't have the random time skips and stuff in the episode.

Nick

I think everyone can identify with erens evil side to some extent. It’s human nature to hate and think about bad things happening to people, but we usually don’t act on that hate with violence because we’re better than that, or we don’t truly believe that those people deserve harm. With that being said I do believe there is a significant portion of the fandom who love Floch and what he stands for on YouTube and social media even though he’s a fascist extremist. Eren supporters don’t have a developed sense of empathy or understanding of the situation, and I would say the demographic would be focused male, young, and conservative (I hesitate to add that last point, I don’t know if it’s ok to mention politics here). A lot of that is a function of the show in general appealing to young males, though.

Luke Powers

Loved it! Now you have half a year to prepare emotionally for the very last part.

bri

Great video, watched the whole thing

Jay Craig

It will be interesting to see the demographics on Eren's supporters. It's no mystery that Isayama used a mixture of WW2 and modern day Western politics to create the plot. He is also very right wing politically so he's got a sharp sense on what sort of story/characters will appeal to that demographic. He even said that he identifies strongly with Eren's evil side.

Orr Malus

The ending song is Splinter Wolf, Galliard's theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FPQLXGhOi0& It has a slow start but it completely makes up for it. I'm glad they did it justice by recycling it for the last scene.

Orr Malus

Most likely tonight

Pkiu

Waitin on that peak Vinland Saga episode!

Dkai

I think only Part 3 Part 2 can top the review length. 140 minutes is already considerable. 😅

Robert H.

Milena and Lola are pioneering a new form of YouTube video that’s just a feature length movie

My Toasty Toast

No rush just curious.. When vinland saga 2x9 🤞?

c01d_h4nds

Wow great insight

MinaOrano

100%

MinaOrano

Yeah. I think that's just by design how social media sites work. It's all designed for maximum engagement, clicks, hits, likes. Algorithms also are designed to push inflammatory content towards users. I mean, internet and nuance have a terrible relationship with each other. It's spaces like this behind paywalls where we can have some meaningful conversation.

Vivasvan Gautam

It's definitely not a 'small ' group. I don't support what Eren is doing but I only see Eren supporters on Tiktok, Insta, Twitter, YT etc. Even if you watch some other reactors they're pro-rumbling, didn't even look sad when those people died and made jokes about it. The fandom hates Marley, and a lot of them think binary like black and white. They hate Marley and thus support Eren's plan. I also hate Marley, but I know it's not that simple. It's easier for people to support Eren because he's the person we've been following for the whole show. People's morality is just blinded by that. They wouldn't be the same if this was real life.

MinaOrano

No. I think a small group is just particularly loud.

Robert H.

You underestimate Eren supporters if you're on AOT social media 98% of AOT fans support Eren 😭✋🏼 They justify him to the end, even after seeing the horror of this ep

MinaOrano

You guys could talk about SnK for days if you wanted to haha. 2.5 hours long video is pretty wild. The finale will need a 5 hour special edition!

Camzeee

they "talking about things people don't care about"... well, i actually do, i miss your sporadic appearences on twitter 😂

sand_fl

I'm itching for Vinland saga like a crackhead

JoJoRenegade

About the Falco situation, it’s a little confusing since the anime cut a little bit of the explanation so I’m not sure if they’re gonna add it the next part but basically Falco explains that he saw a memory belonging to Zeke. Much like how the Female Titan can obtain abilities from other Titans by taking in parts of their bodies, they believe the same has happened to Falco due to the fact it was Zeke's spinal fluid that first transformed him into a Titan. The spinal fluid in this case is the “body part” that Falco “ate” hence why he has a bestial appearance compared to previous Jaw Titans (Ymir, Porco etc.) As we know that when you became a Titan shifter you also obtain memories of the previous titan inheritors and so because Falco has two titans inside him (the Jaw and Zeke) he can see previous memories of the Jaw and Beast inheritors. In this case he saw a memory belonging to the Beast Titan, which was the flying in the sky and so he thinks that his titan can do something like that because there was previously a Beast Titan with wings. It’s worth noting that Falco’s titan looks nothing like the Jaw and has even bird like appearance (bird beak, wings, feather etc.) Also remember that every Beast Titan is diffrent from each other much like the Jaw Titans, since Ksaver (Zeke’s Father figure) said that his Beast Titan was not suited for fighting at all, which is the opposite of Zeke’s Beast Titan. Hopefully this clear the confusion a little bit.

alpassione

It's missing a little less than half of Chapter 134 (0.25 chapters) and Chapter 135 - Chapter 139 (5 chapters) as well as Chapter 139.5 (8 pages, but needing a lot more fleshing out). If they could squeeze 3.75 chapters into 60 minutes now, I estimate 70 to 90 minutes for the finale as well. And the thing is, the finale is very action-heavy, but also incredibly dialogue-heavy, much like this episode. So I would go more in the 90 minutes direction than the 70 minutes. In addition, the fans want an elaboration of the plots and dialogues, because in the manga it seemed very overloaded and rushed. It felt like 10 more basements were opened in these final chapters and you somehow needed more time to process everything.

Robert H.

There is technically five chapters left + few pages from a chapter that was adapted in this episode but was left out so roughly 5.5 chapters left. However since there is a lot of action going on in the chapters, they can easily do it in 1h 10min or something like that.

alpassione

Guys the beast Titan is not a monkey, look at how falco looked when he transformed for the first time.

Irvin

I probably should have put all my answers in one comment :D But to briefly clarify the world map of Attack on Titan: It is 1:1 our world map, only mirrored and upside down. Paradise Island = Madagascar, Marley = Africa, Onyankopon's nation = Europe. It's a theme in Attack on Titan to take Reality and just flip it upside down, like the story of Eldia, where the Romans (Marley) lost to the Germanic tribes (Eldians) or to put the Europeans on Africa and the Africans on Europe. In addition, I have picked out the map here + draw two circles around Paradise Island to get a sense of how great the extent of the destruction is. Here I assumed, however, that Eren is equally fast on land and water: https://imgur.com/a/np8kBt5

Robert H.

Maybe it got blocked because the music? You play a lot of the songs My War and Under the Tree, maybe that’s why YouTube blocked the video

Joaquín Calderón

to answer a few questions there are about 5.5 chapters left and if i had to guess the final episode will be closer to 90min if they want to flesh everything out. we only know its a fall season release (november is my guess) the song during hange’s sacrifice is called bauklötze ( it was also played during season 1 when the female titan was chasing eren in the forest) the song that played as the alliance landed on eren was called splinter wolf (s4 soundtrack) anyways great review, always appreciate the long thorough aot discussions, especially when it comes to the themes and intentions of the story. just sad to think that we’re only doing this one more time!

Sebastian

@ 2:19:47.. you underestimate us

Ulfway

I don't know if this is a common slip of the tongue by Lola, but Zeke and Eren's grandparents didn't make it to Fort Salta. They were arrested for Zeke's betrayal of Marley and not even freed like the other prisoners when they found out the Rumbling was coming. They were killed by Eren while they were comforting each other.

Robert H.

also next special may come out at anytime between october and january, dpending upon what contractual stipulations are and how much time can mappa animators can devote to AoT production. honestly aot community always expects delays because it just means that people passionate about the project would be able to deliver it to the best possible quality. it has been one of the most influential shows in past decade in anime.

Vivasvan Gautam

excellent review girls. loved every bit what you have said. to you in future , fall of 2023, we shall meet again, for one last time.

Vivasvan Gautam

the time stamp king returns. thank you robert for your hard work

Vivasvan Gautam

I'm already typing the timestamps and just have to smile about your discussion at 1:36:30. Watch the opening of the second season again and think about why the Beast Titan is even called Beast Titan and not Monkey Titan. Maybe this will help you. 😊

Robert H.

Those girls are so smart i swear

Christal Donut

As one of the ten (I bet there’s more) who stayed till the end. We only have confimation that the second part will air in fall so that could be anytime between October and December. It should adapt chapters 135 to 139 so at least an hour. Also the world map of AOT is like ours but rotated 180 degrees with Europeans living in Africa and vice versa. Love the reactions guys, please keep up the good work!

Berserk^

I didn’t go to work just to watch your reaction

Draken

Two and a half hours.. Impressive, very nice... Let's see Filmbuff's reaction video

enchantertim

Take this special in, doesn’t matter if the conversation is 5 hours long, there’s nothing else after the next special.

Irvin

Seeing the 2 hour video time makes me want to go on a drive and listen to your guys discuss

TheChipiboy

I think if you don't follow 'Anime' in general or follow people who watch anime on the social medias you genuinely won't get AOT news. It only started coming up on my tiktok, Insta, Twitter etc. when I literally searched 'eren yeager' on twitter 😂 so you're spoiler free which is great

MinaOrano

Yay lets go.

Vivasvan Gautam

Omw I'm excited

MinaOrano

Been waiting for this one, I can see the tears already😂

JATLA

I waited and it paid offfff. Ty
