I appreciate seeing your thoughts as someone watching along for the first time, I know it's def difficult to wait considering how addictive and intense the show is, so I admire your restraint LMAO. I watched live through s3-4 and that was definitely challenging at times haha. And for theories, given you are new to the show and the show explicitly encourages people to theorize, I say don't worry about clowning yourself by talking about what you might think! It's part of the fun. My main issue with the comment sections here has been people who try to lead the theorizing in a certain way bc they know what's to come, which to me ends up being spoilers-adjacent. So yea, thanks for the commentary and hope you enjoy what's to come ^^

another hectic and amazing episode. i feel so bad for mobley and trenton. they of course were responsible for 5/9 just like darlene and elliot, so it's not like they're copletely innocent here, but god, they did not deserve to die like that and have their families think they were responsible for +4k deaths. i feel awful for angela but also really conflicted because this time she's completely at fault. she was not the mastermind and was lead to believe no one was going to die or whatever shit they fed her, but she's still the reason the plan was able to move on, so it feels a bit hypocrite to feel bad for her when so many people died because of what she did. now i think there's no turning back or redemption and she's going to die soon, i give her a few episodes, maybe until the end of the season of the beginning of the next. and speaking of angela, her relationship with phillip still bugs me. i have a theory but i'm going to keep it to myself because i don't really feel like doing the root thingy for commenting spoilers and i don't want to clown myself in case i'm wrong. i'm starting to get worry for dom because even if i'm confident she's surviving this we've seen what dark army and white rose are capable of and there's worse things they could do than kill her. it's interesting seeing mr robot's perspective now that he's been played. i did not expect him to confess to krista but then again i never see krista coming so it always caughts me by surprise when she appears. and as lola always said nothing is put on the show for no reason so i'm sure this storyline with krista has to end up somewhere. thankfully i waited and watched this today because i could not have processed this last night at 1 in the morning. honestly as much as it pains me and how i really want to watch this the day it's posted i should always wait and watch during the day so i'm more focused.

Great (though bleak) episode, great reaction + discussion as always. I don't have much to add except that so many of the payoffs so far have been built on the work done in season 2. On this rewatch I'm really appreciating S2 so much more - like everything that happened with Dom in S2 serves to make the ending of this episode so much harder, like you know how much work went into that whiteboard. Angela this episode is heartbreaking. I love that you both seem to understand her on an emotional level. I think about the rewinding scene a lot, with that sad dirge-like piano track in the background. Poor Angela thought she was going to blow up one evacuated building with only a few casualties and ended up being complicit in 4000+ dead, god knows how many injured plus all the long term effects. And she directly made it happen - if she complete her mission 2 episodes ago, this couldn't have happened. I think at that point its easier to just double down and let yourself believe whatever you were told rather than accept your responsibility in such mass tragedy. It even breaks Elliot a little here to the point Mr Robot assumed control. I love the scene with Irving and Mr Robot recontextualising his revolution. And I watched the Krista / Mr Robot on youtube a bunch in anticipation of this ep, you can see the fear on her face as she realizes the cute sad boy with DID she's been helping may have actually did the biggest terrorist attack in US history lol. I love scenes where Mr Robot interacts with other people and imagining what Rami Ismail would look like doing and saying those things. It was really hard to talk about in earlier episode threads without accidentally giving tonal spoilers, but show watchers knew we were heading here and so knew Mr Robot's epic grand plan, Angela's allyship with Whiterose, Dom's investigation was going to reach this dark point. Hence all the super vague posts in S1 and S2 threads haha. And we still have arguably the best season to come, and a banger of a final few eps. It's an exciting time in the world.

There is a sort of sickening irony to Trenton and Mobley who, in S2 especially, are emphasized as the minor characters they are in-universe with not having any control over the group they were roped into, ending up being recognized as the main figureheads for fsociety, but for Dark Army's actions Also regarding WR and Angela, with last episode I realized that in the questioning process, WR would have definitely gotten a good enough psychological report that was informed by the way her mother spoke to little Angela in that flashback about another world being possible -- "will you believe with me"? When you take into account Angela's mental state at that point in the season, after suffering defeat after defeat from every angle her reaction makes sense.

For some reason I love when Dom is venting and going "Let's just round them all up. Darlene, Elliot, Angela Moss". We get so much of her perspective that you forget just how separated she is as a character in terms of which "side" she is on and how de-integrated she is with the rest of the cast. So for me at least it feels so surreal and interesting having it suddenly reinforced like that. A little meta too, like it's all the main characters involved with this and we get an outside perspective being on the money with it. It also brings me back to the excitement of S2 with Dom finding everything out.

Very glad to see this, this is imo the bleakest ep of the series. Something bad happens to pretty much everyone but Whiterose and it's just Pain lmao.
