Disagree Nathan, the point of this mini arc imo is to remind anyone who may be becoming enamored with Askeladd of what he truly is, that despite any justifications or lofty goals he may have he's no better than the Danes he hates - Anne calls him and his men evil at the end of the episode and it's fully deserved - there's no other word for them.
