Announcing my latest project: RTX Reactor, a program that will give you the ability to convert any Minecraft: Bedrock Edition texture pack for Minecraft RTX.
Essentially allowing you to experience all Minecraft texture packs with ray tracing, while retaining full functionality.
How does it work?
Accepts .mcpack and zip files of Minecraft texture packs as input, press enter, wait a few moments and ta-da! The RTX version of the pack is deployed at your desktop (likely C:\Users\%username%\Desktop)
Depending on the size of the pack and your computer this can take a while (usually a few seconds, up to 4 minutes).
(Requires .NET +6.0 - Download and Install .NET 6.0 Runtime from Microsoft's Website)
Step-by-step guide:
• After installing .NET 6.0 from the link above, download RTX Converter Setup from this post.
• Installation is straightforward, After it is finished, open RTX Converter.
• Download a .mcpack Minecraft Bedrock texture pack from the internet, or use the ones you already have, right click it and select "Copy as Path" from the context menu, and paste it into the console.
• Press enter and be patient!, it might take a while, later you're asked if you want fog or not (why wouldn't you?) type yes, or no, and wait a few moments, you should see packName-RTX.mcpack on your desktop,
• Import the converted pack like you usually import Vanilla RTX, activate it, enable ray tracing in video settings, and have fun.
Notes:
• This release is currently in alpha stage, that means it is functional enough to be used, but is unpolished and often lacks many of the features that will be included in the future versions of the program, so as of now, it merely serves the purpose of allowing you to experience Minecraft resource packs without ray tracing support with ray tracing, while retaining most of the functionality of light sources and different materials, there's no guarantee that it provides the perfect experience for each and every resource pack, results can vary. For the most part, this program is targeted at packs that retexture Minecraft with textures that represent the originals items, for example: Faithful 32x, Multipixel, Barebones, low resolution vanilla packs, like OcD, vanilla/vanilla+ packs, HD packs, etc... just to name a few.
• If you faced any issues or something went wrong, You can comment here, or if needed send me a friend request on Discord (Xubeir#3036) with the resource pack you were trying to convert & explanation of steps you went through (This will really help)
• I've planned on long term support for RTX Reactor with lots of features to come.
• Only the first Alpha release of RTX Reactor is called RTX Converter, since that is all it does in this particular release.
• Do not try to convert Minecraft Marketplace resource packs, they are encrypted.
Edit (July 6 2023): Today, I have unlocked this post for all Vanilla RTX patrons.
This post will eventually become public, so consider this particular release a demo.
Edit #2 (September 11, 2023): In celebration of the first anniversary of this Patreon page, I have decided to make this post free for everyone. Enjoy!
