dforce - thickness to clothing

trying to figure out how to get some thickness to the clothing. i found a work around, but its not perfect yet.

well, the thing with displacement maps is that it only moves polygons up or down. so if you apply it to an edge of a mesh, depending on the render engine, you end up either with a hard solid edge which you cant apply any uv's to, or an open gap with it still being paper thin. so for creating actual thickness its not useful

ok, maybe yet was to optimistic. been looking around and i actually see noone doing this. at least not directly inside DAZ

I remember thinking that I should try adding an uniform displacement map on the object, and artificially add some thikness that way. But I never got to try if it would work.
