2021-01-26 23:11:43 +0000 UTCThis was explained immediately after the first season ended (in the novels) but they apparently skipped it so I take it is not much of a spoiler and more of a gap filler: Tatsuya's emotions were erased, except for the love for his sister. He can still feel mild emotions but nothing intense unless it involves his sister. This because of the magic he has, in order for it not to run amok alongside his emotions. Also, his sister is loving like that because he literally saved her life using regrowth, when she and their mom were shot and almost died; so she pledged her life to him. Before that, she even hated Tatsuya.
