I watched a show the other night about China having their own Jackson Hole, modeled after the city in America. In Chinese it is “Hometown, USA”. China has other cities modeled after places like Paris, a generic Germany, Orange County, Quebec & Thames Town. These are like gated communities or theme parks where you can live. China also has “Europe Streets” where European culture & shopping is to the fore. I’ve been heavy on the artifice for a while, knowing that culture would just blur more & more over time & that isolation was the key factor to get over. What shocked me is that it is just painfully obvious that China has spread its tremendous wealth around. While America might be the richest country in the world, the wealth is concentrated in pockets that are just hoarding it. The money isn’t flowing. Too much money has been allowed to concentrate into too few offshore bank accounts. This weird Communist/Capitalist hybrid that China lives under somehow keeps the money flowing in a way that the homelessness, despair, open drug use, crumbling infrastructure & mental health issues in the US really underline. I’m more than positive that there are countless, expensive American suburbs with clean, well-kept streets. But what I’m arguing for is that the money should be pumping in the American cities because they are the hearts & brains of the country. Those things need money, then the farms & small towns should be getting it too, they shouldn’t be obviously depressed either. Everyone would do better if we stopped putting 90% of our blood in our pinkie. This could be thought of or dismissed as redistribution, but what I’m talking about is flow.

I might add that the digital economy as modeled by Silicon Valley and Seattle has contributed more to the troubles in the inner cities than any political party.

Again, good redefining and positivity.
