Added 2024-07-15 00:07:21 +0000 UTCI thought I would share the notes at the top of the recent document of art needs for Alex Hagen & Mustafa Bekir. They are worth looking at.
Okay! Some basic guidelines, the Wurstreich is equivalent of late renaissance in technology, there are aspects of early 80s UK street subculture in there too. When in doubt look at Robert Crumb, I like to reference the old weirdo art of Wolverton, early MAD magazine (especially Wally Wood), the undergrounds (especially Rick Griffin, Spain & Robert Williams) & early TMNT (Eastman & Laird plus the couple that Bode did & Eric Talbot B&W), middle White Dwarf is great, Gary Chalk is formally great, Ian Miller & John Blanche for flavor & old Citadel catalogs are great too. Add some occasional Jack Kirby heavy blacks for space & magic.Sergio Aragones is great, look at Groo. Everything should be exaggerated & messed up looking unless otherwise noted.
