ORDER
Added 2022-09-26 13:57:52 +0000 UTCSo, I’m rereading the Lord of the Rings & it is bringing out my desire that I’ve always had (but I’ve repressed) for a well ordered society. I acknowledge that I’ve done well in the chaos & fluidity of my entire life, but I don’t think it’s great for this country, the people or the land. In this kind of chaos, organizations like Blackwater thrive. Anyhow, I’m not sure what to do with this desire for a well-ordered society but I’m putting it out there. This drawing is from 2002 & is of Gandalf, Bilbo & the Dwarves.

2022-09-26 18:32:51 +0000 UTCThe world of Lord of the Rings is full of magic and societies that work well but its also filled with races that hate each other (Elves and Dwarves for example), not to mention they are very territorial as well and constantly at war with each other... and most societies in the book are very homogenous (Hobbits stay with the hobbits, Elves stay with Elves) and most interracial relationships are seens as rare exceptions and frowned upon (Aragorn and Arwen for example). One of the best delivered themes in the books and the movies is how these differences are set aside to fight Sauron and his invasion. Just my thoughts on the matter :)
