WHITE PEOPLE…
Added 2022-08-29 20:40:35 +0000 UTCI got a 3 day ban on R/Portland for commenting “White People” on this photo. What I want to express is not the ban (which is whatever), but more about the concept of White People. There is definitely a dominant white culture & Portland has its own style, a style that I am not a part of. I’m definitely white, I have no question about that, but the distortions & craziness that white people have are just fucking crazy to me. We were watching the Sopranos last night, & Steve Buscemi’s character’s boss is this Korean guy who says that Buscemi has two things going against him - he’s a lazy American & he’s an ex-con! I had this epiphany against nativism & having some kind of expectation from society more than 20 years ago, where I realized that going through life with an immigrant mentality was just a better way to go! Anyhow, I’m sure this line of thinking will be questionable for some, but I think it’s ultimately right as a way of coming up from the bottom. Also, “White People”
