Ultimate Veilweaving Sphere is out now!

Hey there patrons; The Ultimate remaster for the Veilweaving Sphere is finally available!

You can check it out here at DTRPG, or here at our Patron shop!

Comments

1, 2, and 3 are fixed. Good catches on those. 4. Shape Storm is using the old text for "grant the ability to shape veils" feats. It is not intended to grant you an extra veil slot if you can already shape veils using the Veilweaving Sphere. 5. Correct. You would have to spend feats to do it tho, and feats are generally more limited than talents. 'Veil List' is omitted because you don't have one using the sphere; if you get a veil list from another source (such as multiclassing a non-spheres veilweaver) you get those veils in addition to the sphere. (this is a problem with multiclassing veilweavers in general). However; it is intended to use the Spheres X conversion archetypes when using the Veilweaving sphere. 6. In a Spheres + Akasha game using Veilweaving Sphere, it is intended that the Spheres conversion archetypes for Akashic Classes will be used in place of the base class. The conversion archetypes in this system will be better and that is intentional, much like a lot of the Spheres conversion archetypes for Vancian casters are better than the base class. If these conversion archetypes did not get the stuff that powercreeps them over the base class, most of them would just end up worse choice most of the time than existing Spherecasters, whereas with their bonuses they are at least better at dedicated veilweaving than other Spherecasters. 7. Good point. Added these as well.

1. Illusionweaver's Tradition isn't the right heading level in version 1.02. 2. "Veilweaving Sphere Advanced Talents" is the wrong heading level, so it shows up in the table of contents nested inside "Veilweaving Sphere Basic Talents." (I'm assuming Tradition Talents is supposed to be nested inside Basic?) 3. Expanded Veilweaving doesn't have the same sphereshaper restriction that everything else does, although it is still disallowed by the rules in the Sphereshaper Veils section; it just stands out. (Though those rules and the frequent mention of sphereshaper veils not being selectable are redundant; it might make sense to just reiterate that section of the sphereshaper rules in a sidebar rather than duplicate them?) 4. To double-check my understanding, could a spherecaster take the Shape Storm feat, add the storm veil to their veilweaving sphere veils known, shape storm veils with the veilweaving sphere, but not shape an additional (storm-only) veil because the veilweaving sphere gives you a veilweaving level (and the Shape Veil talent counts as the Shape Veil feat for prereqs)? Unlike the old sphere, the sphere itself doesn't mind external sources of shaped veils, but most external feats that could give shaped veils mind the sphere? 5. I believe you can get around the limitation of the Sphereshaper drawback by non-sphere methods of adding veils known, right? Like the Shape Veil feat or Set Knowledge? In addition, absent the Separate Akashic Magic Tracks optional rule, would a 1-level dip in another veilweaving class adds its veil list to yours? (The term "veil list" doesn't appear in the doc except in reference to other classes' veil lists in the tradition talents; if that is intentional it could probably use a sidebar/section on what happens when you multiclass the Veilweaving sphere with other veilweaving classes.) (And if external feats like that don't interact with the veilweaving sphere, wouldn't that mean Shape Storm would give you an additional veil shaped?) 6. While I'm happy with the situation, the free improved essence capacity has pushed Sphere X archetypes even stronger than base X than they already were, I think. AFAICT there is often no downside and the archetype can reproduce 100% of what the base class can do and more, but I'm not sure if there's a way to avoid that happening without making the Sphere X classes feel terrible to play. 7. I personally would like it if Transcendent's Tradition also gave the +100% additional veils known from the Expanded Veilweaving and Sphereshaper's Knowledge talents, perhaps as a more generic "+100%" for future-proofing. (But that's influenced by a build I'm working on.)
