Hi patrons,

I'm still on a quest to balance drawing SuperButch with living up to the ideals of a conscientious lesbian cartoon character à la "Dykes to Watch Out For." I spent a few blocks of time last week at Laurelhurst Park, where ~75 people have been living in tents. The city announced an impending sweep of their camp, so a bunch of activists and volunteers showed up to try and stop it. People also brought food, coffee, and warm clothes. Different mutual aid groups started bringing tents and blankets, helping with trash pickup, and cooking food onsite.

Then last Friday one of the volunteers tested positive for COVID, so everyone who was at Laurelhurst last week is now staying home and getting tested. (Getting tested also involves spending a lot of time on the internet, on hold, and/or in line.) Annnd in the middle of writing this Patreon post, I checked Twitter and saw that the camp was swept this morning. Argh.

My partner Naomi and I also spent some time doing Postcards to Voters, trying to help increase voter turnout in the Georgia runoff election. (It's fun! Try it sometime.)

Off the subject, the next online show is up and running at the children's theater. This time, instead of the cast members filming from their homes, they came to the theater one by one, to film their lines and dances onstage.
