Lucy slowly regained consciousness after the assailant left, but the complete darkness and the tight ropes made it almost impossible to move. Her hands and feet were bound together behind her in a Hogtie, bending her body into a U-shape. Every attempt to struggle caused the ropes to bite into her flesh. Her mouth was sealed with thick tape, muffling any cries for help.

She tried to assess the room, moving her fingers and toes slightly, but the gravity of her body and the tight ropes made even the smallest movement painful. The silence and darkness pressed down on her like the walls themselves were closing in.

But Lucy refused to give up. She cautiously shifted, tugging at the ropes, testing weak points, enduring the pain that shot through her body with every movement. Each pull risked cutting deeper into her skin, yet she persisted.

For a long moment, she only heard the dripping of water and her own labored breaths echoing around her. She focused all her energy on one goal — escaping these bindings.

Minutes of relentless effort passed. Lucy managed to loosen her wrists slightly, sliding her hands out of the tightest knots. The pain was excruciating, sweat soaking her body, but finally, she could move her legs a bit more.

A temporary sense of relief washed over her, but the ropes and her sore body reminded her that she couldn’t just jump up and run. Every movement had to be deliberate, and she had to remain wary of the assailant returning at any moment.

Lying on the floor, Lucy carefully adjusted the ropes, trying to free herself as much as possible. Though the progress was small, it was an essential step toward hope — toward rescuing Erza and confronting the enemy.

The basement remained dark and oppressive. Every sound reminded her that no one would come to help her easily. She had to rely solely on herself.
