Cerulean Spectre

A fantastic and silly grinding episode, and another ridiculous skill for maple! Lmao great reaction Best wishes with the surgery and recovery homie!

Kcosta

Angel Maple was so rad! I'm stoked to see her use that skill in an actual battle scenario. Thanks for the recommendation as well!

For real thank you! It should be a pretty standard procedure.

Thank you so much!

They totally have a Maple Alert haha!

The Heck Podcast

You just know the Devs have a notification for when Maple logs in and a big bottle of antiacid in reach.

Hhound42

Good luck and a quick recovery from the surgery!

All I can say is "Get well soon John". Healing blessings to you as well.

Lol right! Reminds me of many times in some of my gaming journeys, and also the opposite where everything goes all the way wrong haha!

Yesss the game and how it lets you develop your skills is such a rad take on it! I keep trying to think if there's any game I've played like that. That is so wild about the time thing. I remember wondering about that too. Very interested in these events now. Makes me wonder if these events are kind of like testing for possible permanent features as well.

So normally that is something that we do, but in this case a bunch of things are all happening at the same time. It might only be a few days, but we were just trying to prepare y'all in case it ends up being a minute after this run of videos. John is literally about to have surgery in a few days.

Here is a thought. There are 5 more episodes in the first season. So, how many more "unique" skills do you think Maple will have? What do you think they will be? And to continue, what do you think Kuromu's new armor does?

If you’re going to be gone for a little bit. Have you thought about pre-recording a couple of reactions? I mean the ones that have many episodes out there. It’s just a suggestion that I’ve seen a few reactors do over the years, especially when there’s more than one reactor in the video.

I would love to play a game like New World Online. Even better if it was VR. I can't wait for the guild competition, but the event before that is fun too. I think you two will love it and it is taking everything not to just give away anything about it. Angel Maple is so cute and I wish she was real. Also I have a suggestion of an anime for you two to react to. It is called Princess Tutu and it is about a girl who dances ballet. Kind of a long one so I don't mind if you decide not to do anything about it I just like recommending it.

I just love how she blundered into a quest that should have been a really tough event and just sorta breezed through it no problem.

I just know that, if the game they're playing existed in real life, I would play it all the time. Mostly because of the way you can unlock skills, not through leveling up your class, but by simply interacting with the game in different ways, like quests and stuff. So the game would essentially adapt your skills to your playstyle and allow you to be quite unique. I also love the way the anime handles NPCs. A low level of interactivity that allows them to respond to specific words, but not too much responsiveness that would make them feel more alive, and some scripted dialogues and events in quests. It's a great way to bring life to the game while still reminding players that yes, it is a game, not the real world. I'm also mostly interested in the thing they did for the second event, where time in-game was somehow slowed down to make you feel like you had spent an entire week within it even though it was only a few hours in the real world. That (and the fact that the game doesn't seem to rely on player movement in real life given what we saw in the first episode) would suggest that the game puts the player in a sort of sleep-like state (I've definitely had dreams that felt like they lasted for days, weeks or even months before).
