He's either elca Lutheran or Episcopalian. Catholic lite to those who Don't know. They're open and affirming, and liturgical but not doctrinaire for the most part Most Christianity scream that they aren't Christians because of lgbtq + , and both bodies ordain women as priests and bishops

I live in North Idaho, and it's probably closer to 2-3 out of every 4 here and they're not quiet about it. We are in the area partly due to financial restrictions (mortgage on a small house and an established job), partly to be near family, and partly because it's just incredibly beautiful. Fear of these people does keep us from being out with our beliefs though, which is not easy.
