My parents are Catholic, and I'm so grateful their parish had the sense to cancel Mass for the foreseeable future. I'm grateful because my mom was already expressing guilt about not going, so when her authority figures--her priest, her bishop, and the motherfucking pope all said stay home, she no longer felt guilty. Mostly. As frustrating as this example of what life long religious programming does to people is, she's 77 and very unlikely to change. Right now, I'm just glad she and my dad are practicing social distancing and CDC recommendations. Thank you for this video.
