Are Vegans EXTREMISTS?

Adderall much?

Would it be useful that many movements have discussions to find such (and better than my examples) «reasonable and most important steps for general public» ? To limit extremism which is saner internally and externally to not loose contact with the rest the world. As a selling argument, I believe it would more "efficient". But anyway having movements that tends less to degenerate and go crazy about themselves is more important. Even for the good of the movement itself. (another selling point) So does anyone have «reasonable and most important steps for general public» ? To see how applicable this is.

> individual changes is do to them to a reasonable degree Let's try another example: Eating 95% vegan and mostly local because the 5% (like butter in cakes and biscuits and chocolate) aren't much compared to the 95% easily doable but change too much the lifestyle and become a too big social handicap. Also focusing on laziness of cooking and cost efficiency of the diet. Because it could be too scary to change massively one's way of cooking. So it's useful to explore simple things like throwing in a rice cooker stuff like rice, lentils, chick peas and about 10 vegetables plus spices. Then add any sauce if needed. That's about it for few meals that should be great nutritional, not expensive and mostly, easy to do. Even when using organic food which allows to not peel thing like potatoes, so more laziness!

> individual changes is do to them to a reasonable degree Let's try an example: Using libre/open source software. Including the operating system. Linux in my case. With a user friendly user interface and Linux variant (called distribution) that is also for mainstream usage and not only for programmers and enthusiasts. I am, but I don't want to look like a "ultra skill3d crazy hack3r" when using my computer. Even it would be fun and I could be a little more productive. It's more important that things stay friendly to get the message that one does not have to be an expert to have a more ethical and safe digital life for individuals and society. Because that's the message.

Actually even for both ethical and environmental veganism. Whether it's changing one's diet or a larger part of the lifestyle. It has the benefit of creating alternative industries and knowledge about how to use less or no animal based products. Which is necessary to scale that to a much larger population. Even for "just" having stricter regulations about how to do things, having existing actors with higher standards and mature processes for these standards creates a precedent. About gaining massive public support. This can also benefit from the fact that millions of people can eat or live differently. Which helps removing bias against of movement because for example "no one does this and it causes deficiencies". When enough people adopt something, biases (being/supporting a minority) and misconceptions are less strong. So it help for massive public support. I'm talking about support, not adoption. Because as you said, it's massive public support that will make things change for the majority of people. I feel that what is key for individual changes is do to them to a reasonable degree. In a way that can inspire imitation, not fear, not distance. Which will happen if it's pushed too far. So, does anyone have thoughts whether this is in fact productive? If so, what could be detailed? Because it feel that some things are too vague in what I wrote.

Do you confirm that your arguments are also applicable for environmental veganism ? Which as the same arguments are for environmental vegetarianism https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Environmental_vegetarianism

I feel like the thumbnail is kinda misleading for appeal reasons which isn't in line with part of the message ^^"

Feedback about the format: I could watch you talk about cults or movements while drawing with this background music for hours. Love it!

«If propaganda is being spread from any movement. Even the movements one is a part of, then it should absolutely be called out. It's unacceptable, it you're lying, twisting the truth or manipulating people in some way in the name of a movement, then you don't deserve to be a part of the movement» This should be repeated over and over in every movement and in school. I feel lack of honesty (or seriousness about facts i case of mistakes) is hurting so much many many many movements that could make the world better. So much credibility lost, so much whole causes disregarded because of some manipulative defenders. And worst, having this culture of accepting blindly most things going in one's direction is just toxic for everyone. We are training ourselves to shutdown our critical thinking when it's convenient. Of that has side effects for having constructive debates or just to maintain constant attention about fact accuracy. You nailed something very very important thanks a lot for you work :) edit: Final comment after writing the others : wow Owen that ↑ and the rest was inspiring ^^
