The pace complaints were more that it was going TOO fast, or at least the main plot points were. Only episode 5 i truly agree with, i wish they paced out that relationship more, it would have hit harder, especially given past context on the characters, otherwise, yes the pacing is very fast and it could cause problems but if the whole show is like this, then so be it!

2024-01-28 20:46:08 +0000 UTCValentino is an overlord (he's part of the Vees - a Triumvirate of Overlords - Val, Vox & Velvette) and owns Angel Dust's soul - on top of this he is emotionally and physically abusive towards Angel which is why Angel is so afraid of him. In reality Charlie would have destroyed Val but in Angel's head Val is probably the biggest scariest thing in his life which is why he was worried for her safety. The Hierarchy of Hell roughly goes: - Lucifer - The King of Hell & a Fallen Angel - Lilith - The Queen of Hell & the 1st human woman - Charlie - The Princess of Hell & heir-apparent to the throne - The Seven Deadly Sins - Satan is the Sin of Wrath. Lucifer is actually also a Sin being the Sin of Pride. There's 7 - one for each Deadly Sin. - The Demons of Ars Goetia - e.g. Prince Stolas from Helluva Boss. - Overlords - Demons (Mostly sinners but I believe it'll be shown in the show that some Hellborn are amongst their ranks) who own enough souls to be powerful enough to rule over parts of the Pride Ring. - Sinners - Demons who used to be Humans. - Hellborns - The various species of Demon such as succubi. - Lowest class Hellborns - These are Demons like Imps and Hellhounds who make up the bottom of Hell's society So the Overlords are all significantly far below Charlie - Charlie is likely more powerful than Lilith (who is just above her as Queen) due to inheriting at least some powers from Lucifer - a fallen Seraphim.

To add clarity, Lucifer is a fallen angel that became the devil, the sin of pride, and the king of hell. Satan in this show is a demon that is the king of just the wrath ring. There are 7 deadly sins that each rule a ring (which is basically their territory), but Lucifer is the king of ALL of hell. So he has the highest status and is by far the most powerful being in hell (even by heaven standards he's one of the most strongest angels, if not the strongest). Lilith (queen of hell) and Charlie (princess of hell) are just beneath him in terms of status and power. Next beneath them are the deadly sin demon kings/queens. Beneath them are the Ars Goetia demons (which is what Stolas and his family are apart of). Beneath them are Overlords, sinners who risen to power and own other sinners souls (which is what Alastor, Vox, Valentino, and the sinners you saw in episode 3 at the meeting are). Beneath them are sinners, and beneath them are hell born demons like succubus (think Verosika, Blitz's ex gf in helluva boss episode 3). Imp's (Blitz, Moxxie, and Millie) and hellhounds (Luna) are the lowest in status and power (they are also born in hell).

Neither can just leave and they have to do wtv they say or they could destroy their souls/kill them. Val is basically Angels pimp and he just has no way out of the situation. Having them have that nice moment and just bond over the fact that they made the choice to sign their souls away. And now they have to deal with what comes with that. But at least they have each other now to help them push through. I adore them together a lot <3
