As a MOTW, not my favorite. Fun fact though this is actually the first episode that they filmed. As someone who grew up in a super religious household I super sympathize with Lori though.
Anyway, I love that moment where Dean says drop, and Sam immediately hits the deck so hard, for some reason it's always cracked me up. Shows what a good team they are though.
I also forgot how annoyingly horny they wrote Dean starting out. Can't roll my eyes hard enough. I do promise that he gets less gross though :p
I don't want to taint your reaction before hand, so all I'll say is that my post about the next episode is probably going to be LONG. Can't wait to see what you think <3
I think I'll stick with 17. We'll see if while I give a post for all 300+ episodes if I eventually manage to get the dice roll right XD
Sending you happy thoughts!

Awww Dean’s not so bad! A lot of that stuff is to mess with Sam - admittedly not all of it though!
I’m glad you’re enjoying so far. I’m loving rewatching with you!

Dean's "ah don't worry, we're leaving town" never fails to make me laugh. It's so well timed in the series, too. Like this is basically the seventh time we've seen the boys roll into a town for a case and have people be suspicious of them, so Dean's response felt in line with the audience's I think. Just "dude, whatever, fuck it." Golden.
I had to go to IMDb to confirm this blink-and-you'll-miss-it one, but the librarian who gives the boys the arrest records is the actress who played the OG Simone Lightborne from The 100. I started a list of people I've seen elsewhere, and the research is actually kind of fun, so I could keep dropping them if they're relevant at all.
17!

Love when you pause and read the writing they show. XD
The amount of expostition in these first episodes is so funny.
"Yuck! Can't wait." lol
Have a good day.

PS: Again gonna stick with the 12.

ahh for sure. I remember how everyone was in the 2000's. It's just the times and the writers.

Seconded, for sure. The early years of the show, but particularly season one, very much have the feel of like, a horror movie made for tv. So it includes a lot of those kinds of tropes. Throughout the show, there are more times than I'd like that Dean has a line and I'm like "this ain't it, chief."

Yeah, I feel you about how Dean talks about women, particularly in S1. I mean, I'm all for being sex positive and don't mind him hooking up with a bunch of random people, but sometimes the lines cross into skeezy, especially in S1. Try not to hold it against the character too much - I think it's a case of male writers in the early 2000's trying to write a 'playboy' rather than him intentionally being written as an icky guy. It does get significantly better as the seasons go, especially as the writing team changes.
