Script Snippet: [Reanimation Scheme - Kierdan] Death Magic
Added 2023-10-31 04:17:50 +0000 UTCHey everyone! Happy Halloween! π
I guess depending on the way you look at it, Reanimation Scheme is kindddd of Halloween-y with the whole necromancers and ghosts thing? π€So perhaps it's fitting that I'm making these preview posts on the day of Halloween π
Anyway, here is the script snippet preview for this month -- a short part of a scene in Kierdan's Chapter 13! Obvious warning: spoilers ahead, so proceed with caution!
Also, on the note of Kierdan's route β I might need an extra day or two to fix up Kierdan's endings code and credits sequence because I've been sick and waiting at doctors / clinics a lot the past week so I didn't have much time. I'm so sorry for the delay πAny $15+ Patrons who are supposed to receive Kierdan's final beta update this month but cancelled their pledge for next month will still receive a private message with the download link & password once the update is ready, since it's my fault that it's delayed past the October 31 cutoff date for Patreon access for this month.
But for now, I hope you all enjoy this tiny excerpt preview of what's to come!

A long pause follows my admission. Kierdan is now wearing a thoughtful expression, and although there's no trace of pity or judgement in his eyes, I still find my self-consciousness setting in now that the moment of vulnerability has passed.
Biting my lip, I bark out a low laugh and make a poor attempt at humor to deflect the awkwardness of the situation.
Raenelle: So there you have it β my own tale of personal tragedy. Now we're even β you know all about my trauma, and I know yours.
Kierdan: Indeed. How strange that we both have our qualms about death magic, yet it was the matter of spirits that brought us together in the end. Rather ironic, wouldn't you say?
I snort. The heaviness in the atmosphere melts away in the blink of an eye, and I grin.
Raenelle: More like threw us together very unwillingly, but yes.
He chuckles but doesn't object to my statement. Then his gaze locks onto mine again, boring into me with unwavering intensity.
Kierdan: I've never been competent at offering comfort, but I want to express that I appreciate your sharing, Raenelle.
Kierdan: I give you my vow β when all of this is over, I shall reopen the case of your mother's death and find the truth of why the incident transpired.
Kierdan: If there was truly foul play involved, I'll stop at nothing to bring them to justice β or aid your revenge, should that be what you desire.
Kierdan: I may not be able to turn back time and prevent the tragedy from happening in the first place, but I hope that the closure will bring you some peace and healing.
