Script Snippet: [Reanimation Scheme - Kierdan] Human or Homunculus
Added 2023-08-31 16:10:57 +0000 UTCI lied. Knocking out one more reward post for this month before I head to bed, so here is a quick excerpt from Kierdan's Chapter 8 that I'm actually pretty fond of.
Somewhat spoilers ahead, so proceed with caution!

Raenelle: What about you, my lord? You couldn't sleep either?
Kierdan: ...You can say that.
Perhaps thanks to the shadows beneath his eyes and his slightly disheveled hair, Lord Waven's face looks much gentler than during the day, his visible tiredness bringing back a trace of the soft vulnerability in his drunken state that night.
His gaze dips to whatever he was reading in front of him, his eyes veiled by a curtain of surprisingly long, dark eyelashes..
Kierdan: I determined that if sleep won't find me, I might as well put my time to better use.
Raenelle: What?
...So his immediate thought upon finding himself unable to sleep is to get back to work? For the love of Zianna...
Raenelle: Are you even human, Lord Waven?
The words that escape my mouth are enough to stun both of us. His eyes fly to mine in surprise with an arched brow, but he doesn't seem particularly indignant at my comment, probably because the disbelief is too great.
Kierdan: I beg your pardon?
I hesitate. Then I sigh, moving forward to enter the room. When he doesn't object or do anything to stop me, I sit down in the chair beside him.
Raenelle: I don't mean that as an insult — not fully, at least — but sometimes, it's hard to believe you're really human and not a homunculus animated by life magic.
Raenelle: Do you ever rest? Or, you know, relax?

I too am incredibly jealous of guys who have long and pretty eyelashes. In what world is that fair? Also i get the feeling Kierdan has never had anyone dare to say anything like that to him before, no wonder he was caught off guard!
