I think that’s exactly what happened. Or at least they weren’t sure whether there’d be another season so they spent half their time developing the kidlets (Liam et al) to take over as the next generation and the other half saying goodbye

I never knew until now that the high school library is Derek's loft but I know that the outside of the Train station is the exact location from season 5 when Stiles, Scott & Malia searched for Jordan Fisher's character.

As for 6B, I remember watching each episode and waiting for some scenes with Stiles, but eventually giving up, and it felt so empty because his character was a big part of what many of us loved about the show. I gradually lost interest in 6B - I finished it but have never gone back and looked at it again, even though I have re-watched most of the other seasons. I'll be interested to see if it will be more interesting when Jer reacts to it or if it still seems empty without Stiles. I agree with you that, from what I remember, it had a very different feel to it than the rest of the seasons. And way too much of Gerard - I never liked him at all. In my opinion, it would have been better to end the series at the end of 6A. It almost seems like they meant to do that, and then later decided to tack on one last season.

I like that even though Stiles is hardly on screen in 6A it still feels like he’s present, and I think that’s why a lot of people don’t like 6B, it’s a really jarring change. I quite like the 6B storyline, and if I watch it as a stand alone thing i enjoy it. But watching it as a part of the whole series just snaps me out of the whole teen wolf world. It’s a different vibe, different group dynamics. And I don’t think it’s a spoiler to say that other than a couple of little scenes at the very start and very end stiles isn’t in it. He’s also not omnipresent in the way he was in 6A. He’s just completely absent and never mentioned. Maybe that is a spoiler, but I feel like letting go of that expectation from the get go is necessary for any stiles fans to be able to enjoy 6B

2022-03-13 10:50:54 +0000 UTCOn Stydia ….I know everyone wanted them to get together earlier, but I really liked the progression of their relationship (at least up to the end of s5…. Although considering the lack of a romantic lead they did well to develop that relationship as much as they did in s6a) I liked how a lot of Lydia’s character development is shown through the deepening of her connection with stiles. I liked how he gradually took her off the pedestal but never stopped believing in her ….. and how he instantly earned her respect with his speech at the formal, & her opinion of him continually rose from there until eventually they met in the place of deep mutual respect and trust…… with evenly matched wit, sarcasm and a touch of old married couple bickering

2022-03-13 10:48:32 +0000 UTCI’m a big fan of Stydia. Totally onboard the ship. But I agree the Scott-stiles friendship was poorly treated this season in general. I think that was more a logistical decision than anything else, they were always going to build the stydia relationship in s6 but then they had to somehow still do that without stiles actually being present on screen so it kind of took over.

I also have adhd so it’s a bit of chaotic train of thought and I do not know how to keep it short & succinct so I apologise in advance. 😂 On Malia & Stiles….. I totally agree they handled the breakup terribly. I always thought they were cute but not long term. It had all the hallmarks of first boyfriend/girlfriend, but not first love. But they both grew from that relationship & got what they needed out of it. I actually thought the reason behind the breakup was solid. The way stiles said “it matters to me” was huge, it was an honest admission about a major difference in how they see the world. The problem with the storyline, is that it should have been followed up with a frank discussion & a proper breakup scene. One where they acknowledged how much they care about each other, admitted they’d both outgrown the relationship and parted ways amicably, as friends/pack mates.

2022-03-13 10:33:26 +0000 UTCI have a weird head cannon that because Isaac was Scott’s unofficial beta (first) and Liam is Scott’s real beta, they constantly try to compete for Scott’s attention. Oh and I would love to see the Shenanigans that Isaac and malia would get up to because they have very similar personalities.

2022-03-13 08:20:00 +0000 UTCFirst thing’s first, i agree all about Scott and Stiles but people forget that this wasn’t just about connections, this was about everything all together, like Lydia being the last person to see him, thus last memory, her being a banshee, thus powerful with the mind stuff not just simple oh, Stiles loved her all his life and let’s just use that attraction for this single scene. Even tho, Stiles and Scott do have the biggest connection, i think Lydia being the one made the most sense in their situation. I also very much agree on the Malia and Stiles relationship. They were funny and cute but it was so one sided it made me feel uncomfortable. Stiles was her anchor, taught her a lot of things, malia liked him a lot. But then there’s Stiles who tells Lydia in 6x1 that he had a crush on her in junior year too, exact same time when he dated Malia. Then there’s that weird break up scene which was so emotionless I didn’t know where to hide from all the cringe. Imagine how unimportant their relationship was to them that they didn’t feel depressed or sort of sad after the breakup. That quite literally doesn’t ever happen to couples that actually loved each other. Not to even mention 4x1 where Stiles checked for Lydia’s reaction everytime he did someting with Malia. All in all, i felt sorry for Malia cause of her one sided attraction but i also couldn’t be disappointed in Stiles cause, well, you can’t just forget someone you’ve loved for unhealthy period of time like Stiles💀 Still tho, this was a very good episode l, very emotional and once again watching shows with you is hundred times better. Thanks Jer!! Good luck on 6x10 🤩💜

I remember the first time i watched TW, i was so happy that she finally saw him in a different light but then Stiles met Malia and I ended up really liking Stiles and Malia together. I always thought we would go back to stydia at some point, i just wished it was earlier.

It would have been better if Malia went first and the rift would have started to show a little, then when it was Scott's turn the rift got even bigger and then when it was Lydia's turn the rift open completely. That would have made more sense. I love Stydia too! I just feel like they made it seem like her connection was the strongest when that was always Scott.

I don't get why they had to push their connection and Malia's connection with Stiles to the side for Stydia. It was very unnecessary. I love Stydia, since day 1 BUT Scott and Stiles was always the number 1 love story of Teen Wolf! I do agree that Malia and Stiles's breakup was always weird and i really wished they would have done that differently. I also wish they would have started Stiles and Lydia'a relationship earlier because although this season is full of them, it still felt rushed because of how short the season is. Just like Malia and Stiles's breakup was rushed as well. That being said i do feel like Stiles was always in love with Lydia and that never went away even though he cared for Malia. I remember feeling like Lydia was looking at Stiles differently after the kiss too. I do still love this episode and seeing all these memories was really lovely! Having an Isaac mention was also lovely!! I love that we both (and Liam) still don't like Theo! I get what ur saying about Malia and Scott but i like that Malia is showing how much she cares for him because for a while she only cared for Stiles but she was still slowly starting to care about Kira, Lydia and Liam too. I feel like even though she became a part of the pack because of Stiles, she stayed for Scott. I feel like after watching the vampire diaries, no relationship every surprises me. I mean, who goes from Stefan to Damon.. 🙄😂

And I get it, what you said about Malia and Stiles' relationship; they were cute and funny, and he was so good for her - her anchor. But I feel like their attraction was sort of more on the sexual side, and they never really loved each other. Remember when they talked in the hospital room after Brunski tried to kill Lydia and Stiles? She said, "I like you Stiles, I like you a lot," and he said, "Hey, I can work with that." Neither one said the word "love." I feel like Lydia and Stiles are a better love match because they're both smart and really good friends, and they understand each other on a deeper level. And he's loved her for so long; he just put it aside for awhile because his love wasn't returned. He only told her in the Jeep because he thought he'd never see her again, never get another chance to say it. That's my take on it anyway.
