Tech Demo 2

Hi folks !

I've been diving a lot into Unity real time 3D tools these last days. The lightning baking tools for ambient occlusion / indirect lightning is really cool. Also, the Cinemachine camera framework is amazing!!

So... I tried to put some baked lighted environments together with real time lightning on characters to check if I could make it look fairly good. This new tech demo is the result, where you can move around a 3D environment using the same 2D "feel" of Goons Raid Her. 

There a lot of controls to test, so make sure to check the command list and try to find every interaction while exploring the 2 simple environments.

Again, share your thoughts here. I've been learning a lot these day and I hope I can decide what project to work on soon.

That's pretty smooth-looking. Keeping the space and camera angles constrained to side-scroller type levels is a good call to manage the scene creation workload and the 1st person/3rd person switch gives it a real 3D feel.

First person camera surprised the heck outta me. I can see that being a lot of fun! As Toka mentioned, there are some gaps between textures. Hopefully that's an easy fix. When clicking on someone the camera zooms in close to their face. Rather than that intense closeup, why not zoom in a modest amount where their entire midsection (waist and face) is in shot, and allow for the player to zoom in.

Ok you're slowly managing to corrupt me into it :P, it would be interesting to see how much more you can raise the quality bar (textures, models, effects), how the naughty scenes play out, andto evaluate what are the actual + and - from you previous approach

wow, you never fail to amaze me! And I'm not only talking about the setting (wich already give me goosebumbs), but it looks and feels already very good to. Only thing I noticed is, that at some point when you move around the camera there are cracks between the pieces of textures. but the models just look so good. Imagination just runnig wild with this teasing. Lets just say, I'm even more anticipated about what your new project will be. =)
