It's Okay To Not Be Okay #6

Is It Possible for people who have lived traumatic lives to come together to make a good life?? I feel that this is one of the big questions that this incredible series is asking..

so many great questions, and answers all rolled up in a nice tight package.. as you say, what exactly happened in her past and did she actually witness the event (S) and how traumatic to her mind were those events.. and then the huge question, why can Kang-Tae understand her so well, or is he just so well versed in helping with trauma because of Sang Tae.. it truly is a beautifull written and acted show..

This episode is where the story starts to get intriguing. Both Moonyoung and Kang-tae have traumatic pasts and we find out the Moonyoung had seen Kang-tae struggle with the choice of letting his brother drown in the river or saving him. So she knows something about him that nobody else knows. She seemed like an emotionless kid, so she assumed he would let his brother drown (because of the way she was raised?) . But when she saw him decide to save his brother, and ended up in the river…she decided to save him dispite the fact that the last flower petal she picked was on ‘not saving him’. That was a very symbolic scene. From this episode we learn that according to Moonyoung that her mom is dead. So how did her mom die? Did her dad kill her mom…and did he hide the body in the basement? Did she witness any of it? It seemed from the flashbacks that her mom was very controlling and maybe even mentally abusive to her when she was young….which explains her being social behavior issue. There is some really dark assumptions being flashed. But when the mental patient mistook Moonyoung as her daughter….for a few seconds we see Moonyoung believe her, then seem angry when she realized that it wasn’t her mother. So the question is…could her mother be alive and Moonyoung just thinks she is dead. The flashbacks and hints show that there was some violent incident that happened and Moonyoung was most likely a witness to it. Plus her dad is acting like he is holding a lot of guilt. So it gets easier to understand why Moonyoung is the way she is. And Kang-tae is the rare person that can understand her, while she is the only one that understands him. So in that regard they could be good for each other..and they can heal together. But the story gets more twisted and more pieces of the puzzle get reveled…it’s just getting started. Like I said, this is one of the, if not the best, written drama.
