Not Alot of winning when it comes to politics, that is for sure my friend,.. I do love the fact that she advocates for everyone to get out and vote as that is the only way to change things.. I also appreciate that she does not personally attack anyone.. But of course, we all know that stars are attacked on a regular basis for either not doing enough or going too far.. you are right, it's a no win situation!!LOL!!

She just points out the policies she disagrees with and who she’s supporting as a result. I’m in a lot of deeply leftist circles that get uh…divided. A lot of people claiming that she’s not doing enough with her platform because she’s not speaking up on all their pet issues, y’know? But I think the way she does research on policies to try to take a meaningful stance and only speaks up when she’s SURE is the much more mature and responsible choice. She has a lot of young, impressionable fans, and she knows it. Talking about policy instead of people (although she later phrases one sentence in a way that could be misconstrued as a personal attack, I don’t think that’s what she meant by it). And mostly she just reminds people to register to vote. Every time she does, they report a huge increase in registrations. I figure that’s a good thing regardless of party, right? After all, it’s our civic duty. I never miss an election! (I feel like the concept of civic duty has fallen out of fashion…lots of young adults feeling jaded about whether their vote means anything. Which, actually, Taylor also tries to address in another song…) Gonna get back to the video, but—so far as I know, again—she’s never resorted to personal attacks even when people shoot personal attacks at her. (And then people call her passive aggressive for not insulting back. No winning, I tell ya.)
