Hey there dear Patrons,
In this week's post, we have quite a bit of information and things to share! So stay tuned if you like to read! We really want to thank YOU for getting our Patreon at over 30 patrons! Keep this going and we'll have to pick up the slack and catch up before we reach the next goal for a PEW (Patreon Exclusive Works) release which is set at 50. Thank you, your support makes maintaining the expenses of the team and so much more just that little bit easier.
Gavril T-Series Expansion Pack
You may already be aware of the next update for the Gavril T-Series Expansion Pack. Public 2.1.3x is nearing release and it's no secret that this update aims at adding some Special-Duty equipment to your favorite vehicle, the Gavril T-Series.
The old and antiquated Utility Frame will be deprecated and removed from the mod and it will be fully replaced with the Heavy-Haulage Upfit. The Heavy-Haulage Upfit has a multitude of selectable components. It has 2 separate mudflaps, 2 separate fifth-wheel options, and the option to install an enclosed headache rack with an optional lightbar.
What's also new is the introduction of the Heavy-Haulage Bumper. This bumper is about twice as thick as the bumpers currently available in Public 2.1.2a, and also has a set of optional components. For example, you can install a swinging plate (the chrome plate beneath the bumper) to which the license plate can be mounted, and you can also add mudflaps if you so desire. The license plate can also be mounted on the bumper itself, so you could, if you wanted to, have 2 license plates at the front of the rig.
Some of you may be aware that BeamNG.drive v0.25.x broke an important component of the Gavril T-Series Expansion Pack; the advanced transmissions. We tracked down the cause of this to be outdated controller LUA code. Each time the game gets a major release, the devs update some LUA code which can sometimes break modded LUA code. We have, of course, thanks to our close partner NOCARGO who is the designer of all the advanced functionality in the mod, fixed this.
What's next for the Gavril T-Series Expansion Pack?
Following Public 2.1.3x will be a major re-texture of the Phase-IV day-cab interior. These textures were all made prior to BeamNG.drive's PBR update, as such these are not PBR textures and they're outdated compared to our recent advancements in texturing skills using tools you, our patrons, are making possible for us to use. Oh, and a new, super-short sleeper cab; the 36" Sleeper Cab.
Public 2.1.4x will also feature the Right-Hand Drive interior, square fuel tanks, air-cleaner overhaul, and a 6-inch body lift. You might already feel what's going on here; Aussie truck anyone?
Public 2.2.0x, which is planned after Public 2.1.4x, will move away from the modern era. We're then going to shift our attention to the late-1980s to mid-2000s, and will as such Phase-III componentry. The TUX era, or the era when Gavril introduced the beastly TUX engine range, is what it can be referred to as.
Heavy-Haul Trailer Pack
The upcoming Heavy-Haul Trailer pack is currently under immense time pressure. We're forced to make changes to the initial release plans, such as ditching the Type-60 tri-axle and Type-80 quad-axle lowboy trailers from the list of initial release items. It will still come with Type-40 dual-axle equipment, and the updates following after will introduce the larger variants. It will also still feature 3 unique loads. The release date remains unchanged, a week after the Gavril T-Series Expansion Pack Public 2.1.3x, on the 11th of July, 2022.
50 Patron Special
We still don't know what this will be yet, but our team's thinking and coming up with ideas. It could be as simple as a skin-pack, or something a little more involving such as a new part set for one of our projects. We'll hopefully surprise you!
Final notes
That was it for this week folks! We hope you enjoyed this weekly post, more importantly, we hope that you can't wait for the future's going to hold! We would to again thank you for the immense growth of our Patreon page. However, we would like to suggest keeping an eye on our Patreon page's goals. Sooner or later we might reveal what they'll mention what the next exclusives will be!
Thank you for your support!
Yours sincerely,
- the GTG Mods Team
P.S. The 180" Sleeper's getting an update soon!
