I don't know if anyone else has said anything, but the guy you're talking about who wanted to raid the island was Eurylochus, Odysseus' second-in-command. Odysseus is the Captain of the ship, as well as the King of Ithaca. Odysseus, Eurylochus, and Polites are kinda like a dynamic trio, where Eurylochus is the serious/aggressive one, Polites is the sunshine child, and Odysseus is the mediating voice.
