Great reaction! If any character is allowed to be "overpowered," it's whoever is the current Avatar. Heck, they made Aang exactly what he should be -- a prodigy, able to bend with more power than anyone else, and able to bend in ways no one else can. And honestly, him flying around the spires of the temple looked like he was using the available air currents instead of making his own, like a bird who's soaring. It was just right, the naysayers aren't thinking big enough when it comes to what an Avatar should be able to do. And you're right, Sozin using his firebending to immolate that earthbender was excessive, but I have to admit that benders using their bending to kill someone in a horrific way specific to their element is brilliant in a storytelling sense. I just hope the writers use it very sparingly because it's terrifying. I like Aang's monologue, but then I'm a big Shakespeare fan, so I'm used to those. :)
