Hi everyone,

Something a little different with a music department update.

Thank you to all those who responded to my request for musicians and thank you to everyone for their support. I will get in touch with everyone who responded to the survey after the new episode is finished.

The new episode will feature sixteen pieces of music, of which ten are finished right now. I have been to trying to keep up with Fred’s script, aiming to finish the soundtrack in between a week and two weeks. The soundtrack is by far the most ambitious ever made for the show, featuring hundreds of instruments, many different themes, and (a new feature) a few live players. I have been using a more intensive process this episode, scoring the music in full rather than drafting it and then developing it in my DAW.

All of this befits the scope of the new episode which spans decades and deeply explores themes new to show. This episode is an ambitious new path for the show and I’m trying to put together a soundtrack that enhances that.
