Disobedience and Devotion - Chapter 2

Kara's situation is complicated in that she has an active identity as both Kara and Clark. Maybe she's a little more than an ally? It's not her POV but I would say a reader wouldn't be out of bounds to categorize her as nonbinary or transmasc or however they want to see her. As for Nia... nothing has been explored yet in the parts written (except a little bit of her backstory and how she came to live with Kara. I planned to elaborate on her past in part 2).

Lena is mostly willing to risk it all for her views, but I think in this chapter she's genuinely worried that she can't fight back or it's going to have dire consequences - and then she realizes that she actually physically desires Kara. 😂 Kara is repeating the laws of the society and acting as would be expected of her as an alpha of her standing. She isn't expressing her real beliefs yet, and in some ways she has to try to reinforce those beliefs with Lena because she doesn't want her to be punished by others for her different thinking. I don't know if you like feeling conflicted or not, but hopefully you like where this story eventually ends up! 😂

Lena pissed me off a bit in this chapter. One moment she swears to herself never to settle, to express her opinions strongly at the risk of punishment, yet she caves at the first difficulty she encountered and cowered in fear, then swore again. She goes back and forth during the e whole chapter, and it’s maddening as hell. She can’t seem to stand by her principles and that’s worse than having none at all… As for Kara, she’s… confusing. She tells Lena she’s property and seems hurt when Lena is offended, she wants her to behave “appropriately” yet rages when anyone else threatens to make her do so and doesn’t want Lena to curb her tong, she wants her to behave submissively yet is angered when Lena does so and when she offers to be punished… like I said, confusing. So one is maddening as hell, the other confusing as hell, all the while in a fucked up society. It seems I’ll be conflicted about yet another story of yours… I dare say you excell in it 😋

Really enjoyed this chapter I'm really enjoying the back and forth between Kara and Lena. I have to ask though, is Nia a cis woman in this fix or is Kara an ally?

It's also an ABO-ified version of the time period, which I imagined would be even more terrible. I wonder if the issue of shallow people has gotten worse or better... I would guess worse! Thank you for the remarks, especially about the character development. :D

Wow! Sexy times with a mix of angst. I knew Kara wasn't a man. At first I thought she was but scene in which Kara didn't want to reveal her whole self confirms it. So many issues within that time period. It is really bad knowing many people were so shallow and horrible during that time and there are still people like that now. Thanks again for the story. You really know how to handle character development unlike the show.
