Ice Cream Drama

“Here I am buddy, look what I got!
Sorry it took a moment, Daddy got carried away chatting with someone. But looky here, so much ice cream just for you! Think you can be a little less grumpy now hm? Maybe a quick smile for Daddy? No?
Aw come on now, don't be so pouty, you've been moping ever since I put you in the stroller. What's wrong? If you don't want any ice cream maybe I'll just eat it all myself, yummy!
Or shall I fetch a spoon and feed you some? I thought you're big enough to eat on your own?”

And so forth! :D

Well here we have it folks, the finished result of our celebratory Keyword Scramble, which was an absolute blast to work on! ^^

Thanks a ton for all of you, I really enjoyed putting the words together, as always, and I seriously hope you like the finished piece as much as I do!

I wanted to depict one of those really warm, later summer noons, without drowning everything in a blazing glow, so I decided to basically “split” the entire image by having a large shadow and some reduced values in the background.
The premise was "Anthrodad and his human boy", so I absolutely wanted to make sure I focus specifically on a wholesome Dad-Son-moment, with everything else being rather secondary.

Definitely could've added even more stuff in the back, it's one of those scenes where I can simply spend entire days coming up with new, small details, but as per usual I did my best to restrain myself and not waste toooo much time in the end.
(Especially since this pic features another stroller, and they're fun to draw, but holy moly do they eat up a lot of a project's time, phew! xD)

Also, I kind of overdid it with the ground here.
Originally I just wanted to go for a simple concrete floor, but then that kind of looked boring and off-putting, so I went for this stone-tiling instead, which almost consumed half a day all by itself, or at least that's what it felt like. xP

I WAS able to work without any interruptions though, so that definitely helped reduce the number of days it took to finish it, hooray!

So, yeah, certainly a lot of effort put into this image, and it's not perfect by any means, but damn I really feel like it's worth it anyway! :)

Already got some ideas for my next pic, and I might even be able to dish out a quick one before the month ends if things go according to plan, so don't consider it over just yet!
