Resolutions and changes

Hey guys! I'll be honest, we're not big on celebrating New Year stuff - however, when it comes to setting goals for work stuff I'm a big supporter of it. So with that in mind, here's some of the things I've been wanting to really do more of with the channel, but first, some stats!

Those are my YouTube stats for 2019 and I couldn't be happier with them. I love the connection I've found with all of my viewers and doing this work on Youtube is a highlight of my life. The people, the industry, everything, I love it all. Even if 2020 only matched the pace of 2019, I'll have had 2 million views and over 20,000 subscribers!
Alright now for the future:
The aim here is to just overall try and up the professionalism of the channel and expand into new series that I'm passionate about.
Gaming news series
- I've done this only a couple times in the past, one of which I don't believe I ever even edited and posted, just recorded. I feel there's a lot of stuff that happens on Kickstarter during campaigns that is missed in my monthly coverage and Details video series such as community voting on stretch goals, recent option buy additions, language pack changes and more. This would be really useful knowledge for those that want to follow multiple campaigns but perhaps don't want to check daily on all the updates and social media posts.
- Starting out my thought process is once a month, about half way through each month, so it's kind of a paired series to my monthly KS videos. It'd also allow me to cover campaigns that fail to fit into my monthly KS video which happens from time to time when they make a public announcement just a short while before going live on KS. Do you all think this would be useful/nice to see?
Gencon
- I didn't make it to Gencon in 2019 thanks to an abrupt job loss but I really want to plan this out well ahead of time to pay for and lock in my spot for Gencon 2020. I'll be planning a Patreon event in person around it so I'll be sure to keep you guys in the loop. For the most part I'll be focused on deep dive interviews with the devs and networking. All work and little play but it'll be great to do anyway.
Game deep dives - mechanics, lore, interviews.
- Speaking of interviews and deep dives, I've seen a growing interest in deep dive videos whether it be a focus on mechanics as I did with Aeon Trespass: Odyssey, interviews/discussion like I did with Shadowborne Games or new requests like a lore video with Byron about Celestial. There's a lot of possibility here and I always like to share/learn about "the other side" of these Kickstarters, as I think the more understanding we have of their part, the better consumers we can continue to be.
- If you have any ideas or thoughts on this I'd love to hear about it!
Monthly painting video minimum.
- In 2019 I painted 28 miniatures (not counting repeats/grouping) and published 22 videos on them (there's 6 that are filmed but not edited).
- Now obviously that's more than 1 a month and of course I'd love to match what I did this year as well, in fact shooting for 24 (twice a month) would be great! However this is more focused on the frequency/steadiness of it. In case you didn't notice, I want to be more standardized on when videos come out each month, with a regular flow. Ideally with a good flow I can just "get into the swing of things" and it becomes a bit less of an effort. Additionally it'll mean that no matter why someone is following my channel, I'll regularly publish a video of what they like to see.
