Episode 145 - Choices, Cars and Careers

Chill Session August. (Did you notice how all the words start with C in the title. Very smart. Very demure.)

I would like to defend Yugo’s comment about BMWs being driven by black people. My Dad has always said that BMW stands for black man’s wheels, so there is the stereotype within the black community that if you are a well to do black person you get a BMW.

Have you heard of Douglas Rushkoff's book: Survival of the Richest...? https://youtu.be/fJBRqpf6O5Q?si=UFFEIHKIYOljK__A The book was inspired by the highest paid consulting gig that Rushkoff ever had. The wealthy people paying for his advise wanted to know how they can control their staff after society collapses. They were thinking shock-collars and robot guards... Rushkoff advised that they should treat their staff like family... In reality, the wealthy hiding in their apocalypse bunkers must be violently overthrown... BTW: I'm not really a fan of Rushkoff... I'm a fan of Paris Marx of the Tech Won't Save Us podcast... https://www.techwontsave.us/

my highlight: the bois inventing their prolesonas. Also nice: JT and Yugo making me care somewhat about cars. Smart and funny people can make almost everything interesting.

exactly doctors can be very judgmental, like Hakim saying that the guy gave himself cancer by drinking for 50 years. I love Hakim but jeez a bit of compassion for this dude that might be dying. Still think Hakim is great and hoping he’s just making light of the situation on the podcast and treats the guy with care and compassion and not blame irl

I love when the boys wax philosophical

The one thing I'll say is some of the "I don't like people" folks I know aren't actually hateful, and they actually wish people well. The issue is they're disabled in ways that society and most people won't accommodate, so interacting with or just being around other people takes a lot of effort and can often cause them harm. Disability is often a major blind spot of leftist projects, so thought I should bring this up.

I liked this more informal kind of discussion, but it is nice to have a particular topic to focus on

22:40 some doctors will punish you for doing things they don't agree with. I got essentially maced for having for poisoning once because they were convinced it was weed hyper emesis.
