Added 2021-09-06 05:58:25 +0000 UTCremember this feathered lady from october 2018? she's yet another monster-of-the-month who's back by popular demand. she's basically a minoan phoenix, and i'm still quite proud of that unusual spin on a classic monster (you can read more about it in the design commentary).
(btw, my original plan with revisiting past MOTM designs was simply to make new paintings of them. but i'm slipping into the habit of drawing a few sketches of them first, and then turning one of them into a finished piece. at first it was simply because i usually sketch several pose ideas anyway, so i figured i might as well polish these doodles enough to post. but i've also realised that these sketchdumps help me re-familiarise myself with the monsters' design, especially when it's been literal years since i drew them.)
