with this, i'm revisiting another previous MOTM design -- the sabertoothed horror of march 2020! after over three years of designing monthly monsters, this guy is one of my personal favourites and i really enjoyed painting him again. the teeth growing all over his body still makes me mildly uncomfortable, but i think that's part of his eldritch charm...?

WOW I don't know if you have changed something about your process recently, but I just noticed in contrast to the first illustration done of this monster that the way you render the individual muscle groups is so crisp and three-dimensional, I am - as usual - utterly in love with the way you work in textures. the added contrast of sharp and soft edges and shadows really bring out all the little elements in this design gorgeously. super hot rendition! it looks like the colors are truly glowing and you are so good at making this type of green not look "sickly". and the way the hair and fur flows ahhh. I'm just stunned.
