Question post for HTM10: DRAGONS

the voting period is over and it has been decided: HOW TO MONSTER 10 is going to be about concepting, designing, and drawing dragons.

this post is your chance to pose questions on this topic and to tell me what kind of info, tips, and ideas you would find most useful and helpful.

i currently have ideas for discussing both 'conventional' and more innovative dragon designs. i want to look at how dragons have been depicted in different cultures, what they have in common, and how they're different from one another. i also want to discuss "key" dragon features, as well as ways to make your dragons look diverse and unique. basically i want to make it a useful tutorial both for people who want to follow dragon 'canons' established in folklore, myth, and even modern media; and those who want to push the envelope and draw monsters with unconventional designs that still 'read' as draconic.

so, what's your favourite type of dragon? any specific draconic features you struggle with? are you interested in different ways to design scales and plates? or how to incorporate non-traditional elements and aesthetics into your dragon designs? want to know how to draw a dragon that's shaped like a friend vs a dragon that's clearly a destroyer of countless worlds? do you feel like you're drawing all your dragons with exactly the same basic anatomy & proportions, and want tips on how to achieve more variety? tell me any and all thoughts and questions you have, and i'll try my best to address them in the upcoming tutorial! 

HTM10 will be released no later than may 31st, and the accompanying exercise sheet on the same topic will be finished no later than june 30th! i've honestly wanted to make a guide to dragons since i first started my patreon page and i'm incredibly thrilled about finally getting to do it. (not to mention that doing my tenth tutorial is a cool milestone to reach, and it feels appropriate to celebrate with dragons lol.)
