Warhound fans, I'm truly grateful for your patience - and glad to be able to reward it with this, my next big Warhound story. If you've read Warhound and Hunting Hound you'll already have a sense of what to expect here, but I've got so, so many exciting and twisted ideas in mind that I can't wait to put to page. Get excited :)
But for now: Kione Monax, a skilled mercenary pilot, is hired by the rebels to ambush an imperial mech - which turns out to be a certain, oddly-familiar, dog-like machine, with a pilot Kione knows all too well...
That's about all I should say upfront. This chapter is essentially all mecha action, but rest assured that in the next chapter, we'll be getting deep into some of these characters' heads. And rest assured that you can expect chapter two in just a week or so's time!

2024-11-03 14:09:38 +0000 UTCreading this on mcstories is what finally got me to pledge here. you're really really good at writing characters with strong voice: characterization through narration. it comes through really strong in all of your warhound fics and it really stood out in a commanding weakness as well, but this chapter. hoooooo, this chapter. kione's just so *fun* (and the plot hook is great, and the mech combat was one of the better action scenes I've ever read I think), I just couldn't wait to spend a little more time inside her head. chapter two is absolutely delivering! really awesome stuff
