I Find This Concerning

As I was wrapping up my last post on here, this little box popped up on the bottom of my screen.

Huh? We can't post adult content on Patreon??? Oh god, I'm going to have to look into this now. I'm so tired of this bullshit. Where I ask, where can an honest man post his harmless perverse creative outpourings in peace? Maybe not here anymore, who knows.

Anyway, I'll try not to go full alarmist. According to their guidelines, as long as we get Priscylla's "enthusiastic consent" and gratify her sexually... it's fine...?

I'm starting to wonder, do people understand what fiction is anymore? Like, I'm a guy in a room making a drawing. it's a drawing. No one is getting harmed in any way. (Except for maybe me with tendonitis.) If this was violence in fiction, would they hold me to the same standards of positive gratification and consent? Umm... no. Pretend violence is fine. Pretend sex is... complicated.

As always, it seems that Zardos fully understood our predicament,

Thank you, John Boorman.

Okay, enough of this.

Enjoy the Priscylla pics. ;)

Yeah, from everything I've read, the processors are the link in the chain that dictates the restrictive content terms to these companies. If they want to keep the capital flowing they ultimately bend-the-knee, and then rationalize and PR their decisions to the content makers. I think that's where they end up tying themselves in knots trying to say that on one hand they're for unbridled freedom and creativity, but on the other hand don't do anything too gross or interesting. I'll go check out the article now. Thanks. :)

I'll probably just have to switch over to Subscribestar at some point. We've been discussing it over here, but I don't have the push to do it quite yet. We'll see how things go for now. I guess I'm just tired of being blindsided by weird new restrictions, and sudden policy shifts away from adult art after years of acceptance. Some of the granular concerns and carveouts in Patreon's terms were/are completely bizarre. Not to put too much emphasis on the topic, but… There was language in their terms at some point restricting adult content that featured incest... except for things like Game of Thrones fanfiction, or stories based on larger narratives, where in which case, they weren't really clear. Haha, WTF! As far as I can tell, that language has been obliterated from their newest TOS and things have been clarified down to boring sex positive safety-first ever-affirming consent path. IDK, if you're interested in invite you to read this blog. It's wild. https://www.patreon.com/posts/14-march-new-100317296

It's the payment processors, who are universally a bunch of hyper conservative old white men. That's why OnlyFans came *this close* to being forced to ban NSFW content. *OnlyFans*. It's also what happened to Tumblr, and a bunch of other places. It'll happen on SubscribeStar too, eventually. Here's most of a link to a Time article on the topic: time-dot-com/6092947/onlyfans-sexual-content-ban/

You should definitely set up a new account like at Subscribestar or something just as a back up place if a Moderator decides to attack. Like none of your stuff should be against ToS otherwise a LOT of other artists are going to get the boot too.
